Hi,
I am building a flashsite for this site http://www.idhair.dk. Its a competition and the winner gets the prize money.
Now my question is, since the only thing the site is to contain, is what you see on the old site, but in a new, professional, hip-youth-flash-way, how much of a site should they expect?
Should it contain lods of animated stuff to justify that amount or is webdevelopement that expensive that a simple flash website with simple transition animations is justifiable?
can’t upload my progress now, since its not on this HD.
I might EDIT this post later with an URL.
My dad’s firm just got a new website ( http://www.lewissilkin.com ) which they paid tens of thousands of £ for (I would have done it myself just as well for a few hundered!).
IMHO its not realy good approach to make work as bad and as easy so the client would still take it because he is dumb or has no insight on pricing… try to pull the best out of yourselfs regardles if its well-payed or not… at least you will enrich your portfolio with another masterpiece
Oh, and yeah… $1000 gets you a really simple Flash site. That’s probably as low as I would go for a complete site, actually. $2000+ for something complex and fancy
The thing is, that Im just playing with flash (webdevelopment), so I have no idea how much is enough. The site doesn’t have that much to contain, so in my oppinion $1000 would require more than what I have planned to build. HOWEVER, there really isn’t much else to put on the site then what they have provided. And everything they have provided gets to go on the site.
Overall it could use a little more contrast… perhaps white body text would go better with that dark grey background.
The font on the preloader isn’t embedded properly - for me it just showed in Times New Roman. Click the textbox, and on the Properties panel, click the ‘Characters’ button. In the Characters dialogue, select the stuff to be embedded, like so:
Do the same for any Dynamic Text boxes which use fancy fonts.
Try centering the Flash movie on the page, and perhaps have it popup inside a toolbar-less Javascript window.
I think the guy in the shots are actually the owner!
(maybe he’s just the model, but…) he is in all the photos I have, that need to go onto the website.
Thanks for that font embedding thingy.
Can’t centralize the flash since the logo effect is made in PS and what you see is all there is. ALTHOUGH…
Id love to make it a pop-up. That was my first idea, but I don’t know how to write the code in thml to make a centered pop-up window in the size it needs (950x600).
Can you provide a downloadable html with the code perhaps ???
He didn’t purchase it, the firm bought it, my dad didn’t have anything to do with the website, I assume it would have been the IT department (apparently one of the best, if not the best, law firm IT departments in the country).
