So I’m messing around with some math/graphing stuff in ActionScript, and it’s becoming more and more apparent that I’ve forgotten everything I learned in my “stint” (read: 1.5 years) in college. Basically I don’t know math anymore… And I was a Math & Physics major, taking the honors classes and whatnot. It’s really depressing.
But on the plus side I’m still paying off student loans, so not every aspect of college has abandoned me.
For those of you who, like me, are no longer in school, do you remember even half the stuff that used to be your entire life?
I tend to just bury the information pretty deep. So I can’t exactly call it to the front of my mind whenever I please, but after a quick refreshment it all comes back.
I barely passed english every time I’ve taken it… its nothing like math it never sticks in my head).
Yea over time I’ve forgotten most of the formulas I’ve learned and such (except stats because im an accounting major).
Basically I instantly forget what I learned in English right after the final exam/paper.
/edit, although once me and some friends were flicking through our other friends final papers she was grading (Teachers Assistant)… and you realize how dumb some people really are and it makes one feel better.
Yep. But the stuff I learned and haven’t used since is obsolete now (director lingo in particular) so that’s okay with me. I was surprised that I completely forgot how to use Lightwave though, which sucks a bit. Ah well.
Sekasi: I think there are html coders, as they do write code, but not html programmers. It seriously gets under my skin when html coders talk about being programmers. That’s only one step better than people that write excel macros.
This year i failed math by about 20 percent each time. Don’t feel too bad
I’m not going to blame it on my horrible teacher, but i wasn’t that motivated. Quite honestly most people don’t remember things they won’t need on weekly basis. Especially if your not interested in it. Like from history, i remember all the major battles of the civil war, but i can’t remember how to calculate the square root without google
People spend time on different things. Imagine for everything you know, someone knows the same amount of something else. Someone can probably write an encyclopedia on foot fetishes. I’d totally buy it too.
