Need a honest review

Umm I made this logo today on my quest in search of a decent yet simple logo. Please review this because its gonna be my logo for a long time and i dont want people not to like it. Please give me honest reviews. And suggestions
:stuck_out_tongue:

the X doesn’t fit in too well, so does the wind u added to it :-\
i like the light effect, tho

I’ll tell you this now, your logo looks nice at the size it is now, but if you were to scale it down, I doubt it would look at nice as before. I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again, a good logo would work at any size. Try scaling it down to a size of 50x50 and see if the detail on the ā€œXā€ holds and if your text is readable. If it holds then the logo is fine, if not then you have a problem. Great start though, I like the colors, but I think it’s a bit too busy for a logo, maybe simplify it a bit more. =)

hehe i was thinking the same thing when i made it. For like a engrave effect in PS. Since i made the X with the grid i can just make different variations of it on different grid squares and make the gaussian blur which the belevel is made of smaller to like 2 or 1 or something like that. Also i will not have the ball. That logo is just used for splash pages or other parts of my site that are more detailed. If i need to resize it i will make the logo a plain grey color or mby a gradient. :-\

Well that defeats the purpose of having a logo then. A logo is your identity, you’re basically changing it if you’re changing the logo. That’s why a ā€œrealā€ logo could be used on anything and any size and it would still look the same no matter what. Well that’s just me, you do what you wanna do, good luck. =)

That makes me think…

Lol i never knew that was how the x bx logo was spelt. I just Had a circle and i needed to crap all the letters into it. I also wanted the make the letters even with the sides of the X.

Here Electro this is kinda what i meant. There is no retail but it is genarally the same shape. I dont want it to be that noticable on my website unless it is the detailed one.

I completely agree with Electro on this one. In addition to his comments, I think the logo is not flexible at all. You probably can’t use it for many things and it also really restricts your medium. For example, if you must print business cards, they must be in full color, otherwise the logo will suffer (and also your budget). Try faxing it to yourself… will the logo still be strong?

Not only that, I find it really noisy and complicated… it relies too heavily on filters and special effects that all clash together. Think of the most recognizable brands - many of them utilize basic shapes and colors yet their identities are very strong.

And that is my honest opinion.

good point Rengirl, I forgot about the faxing thing, chances are the last sample xero posted will turn out to be a black block after being faxed and barely any detail would go through.

I liked the first logo MUCH better but i do think you’ll need to take out something so it will look nice small too.
