hi guys, umm yeah this site called “Swesoul” asked me if i could re-do their website and i said yes, now the theme is as you prob. already guessed it soul… so i tried to give it a soul related color scheme, and so on… this is the main page and ill post the splash and some other pages later… let me know your comments please…
and yeah, that looks nice, really fits the bill correctly. I’m not too sure about the “flower tag” on the logo, but the rest of the logo typography is on point.
For one thing, I would definately move the images to the top of the page ( above hottest news) - also perhaps some nice oranges and greens added to the brown??
When I think soul, I think curves, long winding vectors etc (like the logo) , perhaps this intsead of the hard angular interface?
I like what you started with the flower motif on the left /( perhaps zoom that up a bit and reveal it thru the “windows” of the site?
hm you think i should do that with the images? i mean it makes sense… but i wanted people to notice the apology (i didnt write it they did) maybe ill just re-arrange them and see how it will work out…
greens? something tells me that it wont look good… its still not completely dont it will get some vectors and some more effects:)
abt the flower motif you just gave me a great idea, thats brilliant thanx… and i might make the square boxes into some wierd curvs…
The title text is good but imo the pixel font is too wide.
The colours look great but i’m not sure about the diagonal lins on the footer.
Just wondering, is this flash or html?
thanx ritual… the reason i used wide pixel font is cause i think that it looks kinda soul-ish… and the diagonal lines on the footer makes it look not so bright, just trying to blend in with the background…
this is (for now) html, i might make it into flash later, just dont want to win way to many awards…
Ditch the numbers under the nav… numbers in the nav are played out and useless in this case
ditch the angular shapes like this:
your fusing a hint of a techy 2advanced style into one that should be flowing and soulful…
i’d just make that bottom part straight if you know what i mean
Place the beta flower somewhere where it isnt covering half the identity
think of a different font colour than red for “coming soon”… its the little things that count, and red does NOT fit in with your page.
Maybe incorporate the flower thing on the left into your header to make it more ornate and less empty
well if your going to introduce a next colour for the 'coming soon’s you have two options
a) go with a light blue
b) go with a bolded font with the same colour as the rest of the text
the only problem with a) is that you will have to incorporate that light blue elsewhere in your design, right now i dont think that that would make much sense for such a small 4 word problem…
However, if you so choose to add an additional colour to the palette it will undoubtedly make your site much much nicer looking. like i said, its just a lot of redesigning for 4 little words
