I am asking you today to follow upon my first porfolio website( I am recent graduate of the building they call college). I would appreciate comments that are articulated.

Honestly I am not that smart, nor that sensitive. But I would like to improve. You have use big vocubalary words, don’t worry I have Webster dictionary near me. I aslo can read some slang too, so don’t feel that you can’t respond.( I have my own human dictionary[which I call Mike] which is reachable over the phone)
I KNOW IT ISN’T PROPER ETIQUETTE TO TRY TO SHOW A SITE THAT ONLY SHOWS A FEW THINGS…BUT I AM NEW…
SO it loads and shows pics, so tell me what you think… jus reload the site and u will get a least three random pics…
If you speak Espanol, French, English, or Broken English, I have friends who can translate for me…SO I do appreciate your response…

I just want to try something different and have synergetic response that respects the individuals as well as the designer(myself)
First thing…I’m prompted with a request to use the web camera for FP…I know what this means but a novice user will probably think “oh no, its a virus!!”, from a usability point of view this aint good chances are that they will close the window immediatley.
On the top right hand of the screen is the date in a long format, trim this up to something normal dd/mm/yy hh/mm/ss or whatever you want, and align it to the left to stick with the content of the site.
I notice 2 rectangles floating around in 3d space, why?? they don’t go with the site one bit…like one of those things you thought was neat and as a result just had to be on the site
The ‘Wes’ looks out of place, slapped in the middle with the opacity faded but you can still see the white bg.
the photograph used doesn’t look appealing, looks blurry and out of focus.
My last point would be that you have used a light green background with dark green text…not the best colour scheme to use, from an aesthetical point of view and from a usability point of view.
Summary:
I think you’re excitement probably got the better of you when creating this, you need to take what you have learnt and create a well structured layout and colours, and think about the media used.

to be honest… i like the square, it is going to be a little mini-game(for example if you use your arrow keys it can move it)
It suppossed to go with my whole geometric playful aesthetic…
I think I will make it a re-occurring theme…:}
everytime you refresh the website it randomly loads pics–but it takes a long time…
so I am going to add a pre-loader…hmmm:h: ( yeah I know add another 32k to the movie with a pre-loader to pre-loaded 32k of the 2.0 actionscript class movie, in other words 64k have to be loaded before you see a picture):h: :h:
Hmmm…the camera class was a test…but I think I will take that out…
but again,the echo is kinda weird. I have gotten mixed reactions to it, where people think it should be a bigger thing on a screen and further developed for a art interface…were people will yell at it and it reacts(maybe good for a children museum exhibit…not good for web)
