EA owns GoldenEye now… I think.
The Rev is supposed to be about 2-3 times more powerful than the Gamecube. A system that produced visually jaw dropping games like RE 4 and (soon to be) Twilight Princess. Something TWO to THREE times more powerful than that and people still complain. Unbelivable. Now make no mistake about it, the Rev won’t be able to handle 40 million different enemies on the screen at once or have textures so shiny that you need shades to play it. But it will look good… very good.
The Xbox was like two or three times more powerful… so yes, people still complain.
Will look about as good as Xbox 1, which was good, but I dont know if the Revolution can even be considered “Next Gen”, just another stab at the 4 year old market by Nintendo, watch out Leap Frog Learning Center.
As well as… Physics, high poly environments, realistic high poly models, beautiful water effects, etc. etc. :\
But do great games really NEED that to be great? I’ll be the first to admit that games with hi-res graphics are sweet. Take Far Cry for the 360 for example 'nuff said. But if that Metroid Prime 3 teaser demo was any indication of Revolution quality than I really can’t complain, that’s all I’m basically saying. Nintendo has pretty much proven with the DS that you don’t necessarily have to have the bigger spec’d machine to take the competition. Everyone was screaming gimmick when it (DS) was announced and now look at it. It’s broken sales records and it also broke MS’s record for the shortest time to get 1 million users online. But the bottom line is they’re making money - lot’s of money.
And about the next-gen “war” I’m one of those people that MUST get every system. There’s something I love about all 3 companies and you know that all 3 are gonna have some exclusives that you really really want. So just wait till the price is right and buy it, you won’t regret it.
I’ve never been let down by Nintendo, they don’t promise what they can’t deliver and often exceed what I expect.
If this was that important, they would have done something about it. Obviously they don’t need a massive CPU speed, so they don’t put one in. Win/win.
What an enlightening and truly original post :-/
Graphics aren’t everything, and anyway, a well-optimized game can still stand out on a system that may be technically weaker.
I know, that was a little biased.
But I have a GC, used it for one game, Zelda. Great game, decent and orignal graphics. I hope by well optimised you mean compressed video, pre-rendered cut scenes, poor physics, and a lot of foggy games. I like being able to see really far in games, thats my big deal. I am a huge racing fan (MX vs. ATV Unleashed, great game). Games like Dynasty Warriors where you could see only about a 20 ft radius make me want to DIE!!!
