There seems to be an obession with metal in the sporting areas in print media and tv. So I made this iron age website to contrast with the hi-tech/high end mountain bikes.
I want to make uncluttered and minimalist websites. I’d like to know if you think this site looks good? Only a couple of links working for approval purposes. The client has already approved it.
I need a KB loader (it’s made in flash 4) instead of the %. Any suggestions very welcome…
dont u think splash page is toooooooooooooooooooo very simple? and popup window opens with a side scroll(unprofessional) , theres not much infor and you need to highlight the links , well a little more anywya…
I like the look of the page. I like your icons/buttons. I like the way your link works and the content “splashes” up.

Good start. Should be a cool site with a little more work.
Get some kind of colour or graphic on that splash page. It doesn’t look appealing at all with a bit of text on a grey background. You need to make your pop - up window bigger so you don’t have to scroll down and across to see it.
now dont get me wrong here cause i cant make good looking metalic surfaces in photoshop myself, but im not keen on your metalic look, it doesnt look mettalic so much as grainy and the screw heads cast to big a shadow, the actual flash parts of your site are nice but i dont think your mettlic background pic does you any favours…personaly
hard to say about the functioning part since you stated it is very temporary/unfinished …
Graphically - I also can spot things better than I can pull them off, but I agree that your base graphic is a ways off from being convincing…
what I see:
light grey matte behind the metal plate is not centered (lose it maybe?)
main metal plate needs to be extruded some (bevel/emboss)
your vert. screw plates don’t line up with horiz. dividers and they lack definition (depth)… and all the lines don’t meet (that part keeps drawing my eye away)
texture if not improved should be less intense
and the screws need sharpeneing with shadows consistant with the lighting of the rest of the art
unfortunately i don’t own a copy of photoshop and made this metal plate in fireworks. So I’m very restricted. If someone’s listening I’ll purchase the same thing made in PS for this site if the cost is resaonable enuff.
i dont like the splash at all… the gray rectangle on white and the little ani in the middle… id ditch it completely. jpo though
as for the site, please everyone, stop messing with my windows. if you must do a popup though, get rid of the scrollbars. make the margins 0 and make the window the exact size of ur swf. otherwise it all looks offcenter.
maybe make the header bigger. the opening page is pretty bland, but i like the other page u have up.
the nav could use some labels or something, had no idea where i was going.
with the content up, its pretty nice. the transitions were short and sweet.
The feedback’s all been great. Helpful even. But listen up all you PS gurus…where’s my metal interface. I’ll pay money and when i see your talents I’ll buy more…on an ongoing basis.
Has anyone seen the Mercedes Benz tv ad? At the very end there is a metal-distressed metal look. If you can do I’ll but it.
