Footsie–I hope your grey gets better soon…How long has it not been talking and acting the way it used to for?? Maybe it is just a phase.
On a side note…I bought a puppy this weekend…He is adorable, he is a BRAT (beagle/rat terrier mix) small enough to not tear my house apart big enough that he isnt an ankle bitter…well right now he only ways 6 lbs…his name is biggie!
footsie I really hope your bird gets better soon! It is very stressful when a pet falls ill or has a radical behavior change because they can’t tell you what is wrong so it is hard to know what to do!
On another topic - I edited your first post. PLEASE DO NOT BYPASS THE SWEAR FILTER.
oops lunatic…awfully sorry abt the swearing bit…wont happen again and thanks rere420, fester, lunatic, jaya and all the others for showing concern, much appreciated.
rere420 Santa hasnt been talking for the past two weeks now.Now it has gone bad. It seems he wants to talk but cannot make any sounds for some reason. Just found out about a supposedly good vet so will be taking him there.Just pray he doesnt kill my parrot
Nice parrot pics!
Ever thought he might just be bored?
The diet might not be helping, but I never owned a parrot so I really can’t talk.
I always hear they need to scratch they beeks on something that’s why they bite the bars all that much. < The most practical amount of information I know about parrots.
That and some of them need to eat clay.
About the vet you could always report him to the proper authorities.
Not much good would come from that to the parrot, but you would ensure that vet is no longer a problem for anyone.
Could your parrot just be depressed with the cats being around him?
Sorta got the notion they think of him as a living snack…
I think I read you have cats somewhere…
I understand; I love my cat he is my baby; If anything happen to him I would be devastated; My friend had a scare with her cat; They thought she had lung cancer but it turns out she has asthma; My friend was a wreck waiting for the results
i’v heard pakistani vets are next to dr death
you sure you want to kill tht little birdie of urs??? if its gona die anyway then its better to see a vet…maybe something works out
If a Parrot is anything like a Parakeet then get him a friend, could even be the same sex. If you don’t have time to talk to them I think a pal to hang around keeps them cheery.
In my experience with many breeds of birds a parakeet (Budgie) is really the only breed you can just introduce a friend to.
Parrots - especially greys are very protective and one way of thier masters and treat anything they show compassion to (other than them) with total contempt.
Seriously - any girl goes near my bird and its likely she could loose a finger.
Garyzero , my parrot is nothing like a parakeet. If u have seen fester’s pic parrot, thats exactly how my is and my parrot is definitely not being neglected.Something’s wrong, only i wish i knew what was.Anyways let’s see what the vet has to say.

He is not even exaggerating at all about how protective of their owners grey’s are…trust me…Etta on many occassions tried to and a few times succeeded at biting me…She would be nicer if Fester wasnt around or away for a few days (even though she would pull her feathers out becuase she missed him) but if we were in the same room, she wouldnt even speak to me and the two times that I tried to get over being horrified that she was going to bite me and play with her out of her cage near fester…she bite me (drew blood and all) and when I first met him, she would turn her little bird butt up in the air and not talk to him for the rest of the day if I was over…
Footsie, even though its scary…santa will be fine, go in the room with the vet and the bird (i know around here they have to let you) that may help you relax a bit.
@ rere420 : lol for a moment i got confused…and i was like whts rere420 doing with etta, i thought she was fester’s bird…lol…sorry it took me a while. The appointment for the vet is on Saturday, will keep all of you updated as to how it went.
nope…not true, i’v had a dog a huge germen shepherd and he’s done all the stupid stuff you can imagine to himself…ones he ate whole of a pillow out of anger, he was carefully operated and was cured in 10 days time he was back upto his stupid ways again
