Nice Job! I loved the transition between the different sections! I also like the preloader that you used. The animation was sleek and very smoothe. Good job! :thumb:
It’s good, but come on there is a major usability issue. It took me ages to even find out how to navigate… I thought the site wasn’t finished the first time I went there, so I just left. Then I read 10 out of 10 and realized I must be missing something. A lot of normal users would just leave and never come back, much like I did till I read the rest of the thread.
i still can’t figure out how to navigate, how do you do it?
Foget that last post, i figured it out. I had to use explorer. I was using next netscape and your website looks totally different and doesn’t even have navigation buttons.
Thanx for the feedback we got yet. About the navigation, we never underestimate internet users. I think it brings a bit more interactivity instead of putting the menu right in front of peoples face.
I have a feeling that you spent a lot of time on the navigation and are therefore reluctant to change it. Just remember that the time spent making something should not be a reason to include it. If two users already have problems with the navigation, it means you need to change it. However much love, sweat and tears were put into it.
What would prospective clients have to think if they can’t navigate your site properly?
I agree it is a nice idea for a navigation, but make sure people know it’s there in the first place. Maybe you could have a little “sign” in the hotspot till the user rolls over it for the first time, after which it dissapears…
the logo link bottom left took me back to the splash page. I assumed it would go back to the home page and i think most people would too. It’s not as I or anyone would suddenly realise we were french and want to change our minds…
I’m also curious what special kind of work went into the nav? I think the transitioning is great, but are a few things IMO that are kinda sloppy.
First the little floating content things don’t seem to have the same “Zen” as the rest of your site. They seem detached, as well as having some odd kind of drop shadow issues, where you can see the top of it cut off instead of it being seemless. I can see a white box w/ an alpha of like 10 or something behind them too.
The outter drop shadow, bevely thingy whatever you were tryin to do there seems really dirty. I’m not sure what you tried to do w/ it… if it’s supposed to be a drop shadow, a glow, or make it look like it’s inset into the white.
Overall it’s a good site though, but IMO only a 6… and BTW it doesn’t work in FF… but I think you knew that
you MUST add an audio off button, or if you have one make it WAY more visable. There is nothing I hate more than sites with music that wont let me shut it off. most of the time I am listening to music already on my comp so when your sites music is added to the output I get a terrible train wreck coming out o’ my speakers.
bombingpixels…
so you bought a template site too ehh? I had a client buy one from the same company you did (they wanted me to change it)… OMFG their .fla was soooooooooooo…ooooooooooo bad. The library organization was out of control. 300 elements named by number??? There was a main MC that controls maost of the content… it was using 200 layers! I got it down to 15, while increasing performance, usability and future editing… geez they are terrible… good luck with yours.
