Pricing problem

I am nearly finished a site for a client which is a fairly straight forward CSS based site with a small PHP database which allows the client to post and delete job vacancies. We had a agreed a price of $400 as I’m am doing this as part of my work experience.

The client has now decided to rebrand the company which means changing the header graphic(which he has provided) and relaying the site and content(also provided by client) I know that this will probalby take me 2 days to do as I the wonders of CSS and DW templates make it easy. How much should I add on to the bill for the hassle?

i wouldn’t put that thread on ordered - but i’d say $75

Thread moved.

I’d say figure out how much an hour of your time is worth. Meaning if you charged $400 figure out how many hours you worked on it. Take that number and figure out how long it will take to redo the header, and your straight.

I agree with mlk, maybe $75 but I’d be more flexible…say somewhere between $50 & $100

btw if we’re both in Edinburgh why are we using $'s and not pounds :h:

it isn’t really the header its formating all the content as the client sends me a word document, I have to then paste it in and ad the tags. plus I have to rename all the files and reconnect them.

Opel if you’re new to this line of work and you need clients then I’d suggest that you do it for free. Tell 'em that you’d charge anyone else < insert dollar value here > but since they’re such nice people you’ll do it pro bono. This way you’ve bought a client for life at the mere cost of $75 or whatever. The important thing to remember is to attach a dollar value to what you’re doing for them. As much as I don’t like giving away my own skills for free I do it all the time but it has come back ten fold to me.
