Currently I’m a windows user with a crappy computer, and now that i’ve made some money over summer I’m shopping for a new laptop computer (below $1500). Even though there are tons of windows options I’ve always been attracted to the gorgeous apple designs. Still I am hesitant and have some questions regarding the switch.

Will my Macromedia Studio MX cd still install on my apple or will I have to buy a different version.

I’ve heard that there arent many games for macs. I currently play no games (except chess, lol) due to my hardware or lack there of but with a new comp I’d like to play atleast some mainstream games. Can anyone list some games which I could/should play with a mac… and will I be able to play multiplayer or in LAN parties with window users.

I do some programming in c++ and my true love is Visual Basic. I take it that I won’t be able to use Visual Basic on the mac since it screems microsoftness. Are there reasonable alternative programming languages with similar ease of use for apple.

I’m a rising high school senior and since college is around the corner I’m wondering how an iBook would fare in a college environment.
