Man, I’m pissed off and sad at the same time. Today I was driving (I’m a new driver) and this big mother deer followed by two little deer were running across the street. So I SLOWED DOWN and let them pass. And then drove past them SLOWLY. (Oh yeah, keep in mind that I was driving on a very straight road that you could see very far down.) Then comes along, in the other lane (so coming towards me), a car speeding around 15 MPH over the speed limit of 40 MPH. The deer ran across the street again, fairly slow, and this ******* driving in the car, speeding like crazy has about 15-20 FULL SECONDS to stop. And what happens? The jackass doesn’t slow down AT ALL. And right infront of me a beautiful baby deer hits the car and goes under it. The jackass doesn’t even slow down and just continues down the road.
Now I’m thinking… What the hell happened?
I totally didn’t expect that at all. My girlfriend was in the car and now I feel extremely bad for her having to see that. Ever since I was a little kid I’ve always loved deer because there aren’t many of them where I live and when we saw them we’d always get really excited. This really made me sad. And all I can think about is slapping around the fool who decided he was good enough to driving to drive 15 MPH over the speed limit but really had a response time slower than a sloth with a nerve disorder.
**Please guys, please don’t speed if you’re unable to pay attention to the road or have bad vision. ** Now there was nobody behind this guy, but don’t even speed if some idiot is tailgating you.
Accidents happen and it’s one thing if a deer runs right infront of your car suddenly. But if the deer is in your lane ahead of you and you still manage to not see it within hundreds of feet worth of reaction time then that’s not accident. That’s called get the hell off the road.
