Alright, I’m all for CGI. Whether it be cut scenes in video games, or the big bad dragons in bad sci-fi channel movies, but really folks. The way it looks, it appears this movie is the biggest blue screen flick since Episode 2. Wait, Episode 2 did have some actual sets. Let me rephrase that. The biggest blue screen flick of ALL TIME!!!
Full CGI movies (Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., FF:TSW, etc.) are perfectly fine. But when you mix (almost no) live-action with CGI, you get hit with an ugly battering ram.
And then, to add insult to injury, it appears as though they simply said ‘screw lighting, who needs it?’ and used crappy filters to make it ‘look’ like there is actually some form of lighting.
All in all, I’m pretty upset if this is the ‘way of the future’ of Movies.

It maybe a little crappy, I haven’t seen it…
But it is the way of the future and will only get better…
What do you want them to do ?
Build real planes and do it all for real ?
Build plastic models and shoot those ?
Do it in CGI ?
CGI lets them do things that they couldn’t otherwise do… Give it time and you won’t be able to tell the difference between a real scene and actors, and a CGI recreation of that scene and actors.
In the mean time I am happy for them to use CGI even if it is not perfect, the alternative is for the director not to make the scene how they want.
Personally I think the FF movie ruled. It looked pretty **** real 90% of the time to me. So maybe we are closer than we think. As for the movie mentioned it looks very stylish, am I the only person who is looking forward to this 50ish style B movie??
