Recession's Suck!

I got the happy news today from our CEO that they will be chopping our workforce by 4% this year. That doesn’t sound like much but when that means 1,100 employees I get nervous since this is my first year here. I have had exceptional reviews and even was told that a higher level position wasn’t out of the question. However how do you compete with tenure in times like this? If I was in the HR person’s shoes who decides who stays or goes, I would have to look to keep the 12 year position versus the first year rook.

What do you think? Am I screwed or what?
