Second frame

i am starting a new document. on the first layer i import a background image of the same size.
i created a new layer, but this one has 2 frames.
when i add the second frame, the background image disappear.
why ?? what should i do ??

this might look silly but i am not sure what is wrong.
anyone can help ??

On the layer of the object that disappears you don’t have a frame filled.

You will need to right click on frame two in that layer and choose “Insert Frame” so that the object can be displayed on both frame 1 and frame 2.

this is what i did. it still disappear.

Did you do it on your background image layer as well as on the layer that has two frames?

Both layers need to be equal to 2 frames. Otherwise Flash will see the frame as empty and show the content on one layer but not the other.

yep

Can you post an example .fla file? Because if you have both layers showing in both frames, there is no reason for it to do that, so a file would help.

as long as i want something to appear all the time, i will have to add frames to that layer on and on, right ?
everything exceeding the last frame will make the ones before disappear, am i right ?

Yeah, you can right click on the last frame of your movie and choose “Insert Frame” on that layer and it will fill all those frames which spans your layer to be shown through all the frames.

If the layers frames is less than the total amount of frames then the object(s) in the layer will stop showing after the frame it goes up to.

i got ur point but lets say this:

layer 1 : total frames is 25.
layer 2 : only 2 frames with actions on each.

after frame 3, all stuff on layer 2 will disappear.

i want them to always stay visible and active.

If layer 2 is just actions… then they don’t have to span across all frames, but if there are objects in that layer, it will need to span across all the frames.

I gotta go now, but if you can post an example file representing your situation I will be on later to check it and see whats up.

man it was my mistake, i was inserting a blank keyframe by mistake, sorry lol …
but i learned something else from you, thx buddy.

 Glad you got it fixed!
