Well, you’ve got a nice idea here, but there’s a problem with your design, I think. The futuristic look is something very complicated to do with Flash. I’ve seen very few people succeeding in making it look really good. And usually, the graphics are not made with Flash only, but with PS and possibly 3D rendering softwares.

I will say I like this site, but then again I don’t. I’ll tell you why I like it first and then why I don’t like it.
I like it because it’s a good concept. I like how you enabled the viewer to interact with your layout by dragging the cds. The idea is very clever.
Now the reason why I don’t like it is because it has some design flaws. For example you’re using a serif style font for the word “Boogs” and your content on a “techy” style layout. It doesn’t go well with each other. The other text that you’re using is the LCD one, that one is more suitable since it’s more futuristic looking.
Also the colors you chose to use makes your site look unprofessional, no offense, but it looks like what I call “kiddish” like a little kid made it.
I don’t mean to bash on your work, I’m just giving you my honest opinion to help you a little. Like I said, I like the concept very much, but I think the overall layout could be improved. If you have any questions then feel free to ask. =)

Sorry, but I got to be honest, otherwise this section of this forum would be meaningless.
You got a good idea, I give you a :A+: for that. But the execution, I mean, the design of it has not followed suit. It is not ugly, but not pretty either. Maybe if you work more on that you´ll have a chance.

Good idea. Alot of work put into it. Not site of the wek material. The design needs work. It lacks a proffesinal look is all. Plus i hate drag and drop menus.
honestly, it is ok, my being not that good a designer side made me say that. i’ve seen lotsa good Flash sites and, I can’t help but compare them to your work, and now, i say ur site is not that good. as ilyaslamasse have said, the 3d effects are done in Photoshop or other 3d rendering softwares. Anyways, i hope our comments help you do better.

I am just about as new as it can get with with flash and other programs of this nature, and I for one thought the concept was awsome. I loved the draggable buttons and the clips after the cd was played. Truly remarkable.
I do agree with the color layout. It does have a kiddish feel to it, but that might not be a bad thing. That is just my opinion.
Overall I really liked it. Very imaginative and unique.
The interaction and ideas are awesome. I think the spacing and placement is a little wrong. You drag the cd down then you have to look up then another menu to the left and the content on the right then press eject watch the cd go up… Too much eye movement for me. Also I spotted a few different fonts maybe just use 2. Also this is the big one. You tried to pull off a 3d look without 3d. It is very hard to do that with just gradients and drop shadows. Here it cheapens your effect. I think you should use a app like swift to replace some of your vector art with some bitmaps. You could optimize them in FW without much boost in the file size. But I am being hard because this is such a great idea it just needs a little more molding.
The problem with the site, I think, is that the main screen where all the main data is loaded into, and displayed, is not well designed. You put a lot of work into the tech look, and it came out great, but you left out other parts. For example, you should work more on the animations of appearing content in the main screen. Your fonts look strange behind some of the colors…
If you fix the content that is loaded into the main, screen, and make it look more professional, (maybe photoshop?) your site will improve greatly =)

I wanted to add to my previous post, because i took another look at it, and i think some people were pretty hard on the weaker points of the site - where the concept should be comended. Good Work bud, the layout is a great step towards user interaction…
i agree with electron in that your fonts and colors aren’t working. other than that i like it alot. the games are great and the layout is a really nice idea.
I think you did a good job overall. I could see that you put a lot of work into it.
I would give it the sotw.
The only reason the others might not, is because the style is someone outdated. So in terms of style it is more of a stylistic question rather than a question of execution…basically what this means, it is being judged on personal taste.
From a graphic design perspective, if you were to improve the typography and work on your color palette and give yoru site a more distinctive identity/logo, I am sure all these would make a big difference, and even hit a homer with this crowed.
But don’t get discouraged, I am sure you will do many more designs, thats the beauty of the Web, you don’t have to pay for reprints.
