Skydiving - no parachute

That sounds crazy, but according to my physics teacher it is possible to survive a skydiving fall without a parachute. If a skydiver is landing near the edge of a hill and keeps hitting it and rolling, they will gradually slow down, and while break most of their bones, they survive. One of my friends told me that it has happened but I can’t find out who or if it anyone actually did it.

there are many people who had parachutes on that didn’t open who survived the “bounce” as it has been called.

Apparently people who were shot out of their planes in (insert war name here) fell 10,000 feet or so and lived.

Check this out, this site is dedicated to this phenomena.

22000 feet!

that is crazy high…

but i think i can survive

I want to see a video.

Thats insane!

My physics teach told us (the class) a similar story. Luckily, it had rained the night before, so the pilot didnt die when he landed

You know what they say:

If at first you don’t succeed, maybe sky diving isn’t your thing.

aknatn, thanks for that link. Bookmarked that one.

NP, Green. What would the Internet be without links?

I did have a video that I can’t find now…

A guy jumps out of a helicopter above a snow covered mountain wearing one of those bat suits… It has bits under your arms and between your legs.

He falls towards the mountain, but instead of hitting it, he starts flying down the side of the mountain about 6 feet off the ground…

It looks hell cool… like he is flying…

oh man there was a link on here i think? where they were testing gliders for humans…someone glided across the english channel or something - talking about a new way to deploy airborne troops…

Charlotte, North Carolina: In September of 1999, Joan Murray’s main parachute failed during a jump from 14,500 feet. Her reserve opened at around 700 feet, but then deflated. She landed in a mound of fire ants, whose stinging may have helped keep her heart beating. In a coma for two weeks, she was well enough to head home six weeks later. She returned to jumping in July of 2001.

fire ants. haha.

yea i have seen it on amazing video too, its basically persons good or bad luck, i have heard people slipping from strairs and getting killed at the same time people landing without parachutes survive with minro injuries.

why dont you sceptics try it out yourselves ?

believe and you will fly

actually i have done it, chute opened alrite but i was stuck on a huge tree for an hour…did bungee, skydiving, scuba diving
scuba is what i love the most

this time try tying a rope to your nuts and your bed post and then jumping out of the window…

wonder how that would feel ?

ha… ha… that was part of a joke… i will try to get it.

I’m going skydiving this weekend

i’m ganna jumb from a plane with high 3500 ft

wish me good luck guys :s:

cool, why dont u try it for me and maybe you can get both, result of trying that and full version of the joke

[edit]
word of advice elya, dont forget to wear dipers :stuck_out_tongue: hahaha
[/edit]

Kidding:)

Yep, that was an AUSTRIAN!
But there is no talk about military use as far as I know.
He is just an extreme parachutist and BASE-jumper.
See his site:

->projects ->projects ->channel crossing

As far as I know he finally landed using a parachute.
