Submitting Nexus Studios!

Hi i would really like to win the awar for site of the week for my site ENTER… I think its pretty good its to full of lots of flash stuff but there are some flash but its mostly the content!

O YEAH my e-mail is ser1al_k1ller@hotmail.com

theres hardly any flash… why didnt you just do this whole site in HTML?

granted, its a decent looking site - but you dont really utilize flash

just MHO

Peace

Yeah, this is a very nice site, but does not qualify for SOTW as a requirement for SOTW is to be Flash based (meaning a majority of the site has to be design with flash, not just a picture thing at the top where you can choose an image).

As I said though… very nice. I like it.

It is a nice site but does lack flash content. Also u should find a way to use the screen space. Sure it fits in 800x600 but on my monitor I have about 3 inches of black space on the right hand side. Mabye center the site then put some boarders around it.

Yes it does lack flash content i guess but i did that since i need to update my site on a very relaur basic… thanks anyway… 3 inchs of black space??? Well i have tested the site on 800 x 600 and it fits prefectly and i havn’t had any problem with other visitors…

It could be your settings or that you are using mac…

The site was design for IE 800 x 600 +

Anyway i know it lacks flash content and i tand to keep it that way… But make sure to check out some of my projects coming up soon which will will been made of flash…

Not every one has there settigns on 800x600. Ever heard of 1024x768. It is a very popular resolution. Even the blank space out by centering it. The reason people keep telling you it lacks flash content is because this is a flash site forum ( 90% flash is requierd for SOTW). You should have posted in site check or read the rules next time.

Actually sintax… 800x600 is still the majority of web viewers

Even ask Ren or Rev

Oh I know that. I’ve seen the many threads with debates over this I’m just saying there is a large group of users who use 1024x768. I’m in no way saying thats the majority. But it should look good to both setups. Its just the same as making a site for just 1024x768. A site should look good on both resolutions. Centering it would help to balance the unused space. Its just a suggestion to make the site look better for all users.

I agree.

There are a lot of sites that cap off early on the right side though.

A lot of times they are covered up with images to looks like it ends there for looks not functionality, but I have seen some that just… stop, it looks weird.

I read the rules and it didn;t day it had to be 90% =P… It said most of the site…

And beta X thats a intertesing site you got there no use of flash… what did you use to make it slide and load etc? php asp or dhtml?

o wait lol i found out how you did the slide thing its all just one page and you used hyperlinks… lol still how do you get the slide motion? and the loading bar?

I do see the dots and that’s what I have the problem with. They look bad. and on my 22’in monitor at 1024x768 resolution I’m stuck looking at 3 inches of dots. It would look better if you filled it with black than the dots. It would look a little more seamless that way. Or you could just center it. Look at kirupa’s site. It is much nicer to look at because it is not all pushed over to one side.

Nobody ever said you were dumb or stupid. It was just some constructive criticism. If you don’t like it don’t post. Nobody is trying to be a dick here we only give constructive criticism and suggestion to maybe help improve your design. When I posted my first site beta had a lot of constructive criticism about it. He told me everthing he thought could be changed or improved on. I didn’t get all offended. It actual help me realized my site wasn’t functional. Thanks to his comments I now have a way more functional site. If I had gotten all offended I would still have a large, slow, laggy website. We don’t comment to be assholes we just like to help:)

Hey dreamer, the slide motion is done with DHTML and Javascript using the scrollTo(x,y) function in Javascript. My preloader uses the image preload ability of Javascript and counts how many images to add through the array… and blah blah…lol. You can get some page preloaders from www.dynamicdrive.com , this isn’t where I got mine (I forget where I got mine), but they have some good ones anyway.

Hey beta. IS your site use a frame set to do the scroll?

It uses a ton of iframes…lol.

What is this I frame I keep hereing about. I haven’t been following things very well latly. Any tutes u have?

Erm… I don’t know of any tutorials on it. And iframe is like an internal frame, its not like a frameset, you can just put the iframe window anywhere on your site, and it loads a .html file it.

It looks like this…(roughly)

<iframe src="file.html">

Do you just set up the location with a table? Or can u specify?
