Thai Webdesign

Hi all,

we posted the site earlier last week to c what you all think about it and already got some nice feedback from you guys. Anyway,…still we are not online and got the site on a local web server right now. Some changes are made which were recommended. We hope you’ll like it and looking forward to get feedback again.

nice… not something that jumps out at me, but still nice. Clean presentation.
FYI:
Loading times are terrible… each time I click on a section the GRFX portion (header) loads as if some crazy animation is going to be playing up there, instead it is just an image. Im broadband so something like that should be almost instant - mind you it only takes about 20 - 40 secs to load, but this seems way too long for what you are loading.

Hope that helps!

Peace

yoar - thanks Ryall - please keep all in mind that this is on a thai connection and a local webserver as you can c regarding the url ---->dyndns.org

sorry for the loading time - please be a bit pationed - will be alright on the actual hosting space…

hope to read more soon

the chameleon

come on guys,…that can’t be it?! - what stops you? is it the thing about the loading time. i am @ home behind a dial up connection and just checked it is not that bad…give us some feedback - that is the reason why we posted the site in here. if you like ripp it into peaces,…but let us know about it

the chameleon

ok…

the fonts at the bottom of the screen in blue is hard to read. I was able to read it (just) but I think other people with perhaps not great eyesight would struggle. Also the text in the loading graphic is hard to read too. I actually found it easier to read the drop shadow on the “Data Loading” rather than read it.

Loading takes a while but I’m sure your aware of this.

I like the sounds and the navigation is simple and easy. Colours good, it’s clean and easy to use. It’s the kind of site I’d remember cause it looks great but it’s not to in my face and flashy.

Well done :thumb:

well, looks nice in overall, but i have some remarks:

 1. i actually don’t like the font and especially don’t like their shadows
 2. the blue on blue text is really hard to read, especially when working on a TFT-screen
 3. i have a resolution of 1024*768 and i still have to scroll to see the whole page, just shrink the lost space in the middle a bit, and it fits the whole screen, whithout having to scroll

all in all it’s a pretty clean site, but it doesn’t really pop out in the hundreds of other portfolio sites, and i guess that’s what a portfolio is all about

Hmm… I don’t really know what you’ve changed from your site the first time aside that I can see the logo now. I know I critiqued it the first time, having not looked at what I said b4, I would have to say that doesn’t seem like much has changed.

Oh… I think you changed the section transitions… which if I remember correctly I thought didn’t flow w/ the header transitions. I think you did a better job this time around.

Still doesn’t really jump out at me though.

hm,…so seams like the font is still the big issue. funny the last time
we postet the site people were mentioning about the white font and that
we simply should change the font into a dark blue and it would be
alright. well working on a resoltion above 1024 x 768 gives you not
really the eye for it. anyway, does anybody have like a magic solution
in his pocket? i think shrinking down the whole page will not be an
option as the font seams small to most off all the people already and
the bit you have to scroll down shouldn’t be that bad ey?

so guys,…things have changed since the last posting as you can c.

-logo
-animation parts
-guestbook (the blured part) ****by the way - why the hell no one writes
anything inside there?? the most headache about the whole site and nobody
drops a singel line

the thing is - what is it you talk about it’s not flashy enough?? give
me some more ideas here. more animation? the animation is simply not
effective enough? more effects?

belive me this is one of that nights were you jump out of bed wanna put
the whole **** thing in the “norten protected recylcing bin” and start
all over again. but i am sure you guys know what i am talking about

i myself gonna rub the sleep out of my eyes now, make myself a cup of
coffe, have some here called “farang breakfast” and will be the first
one in the office. by the time i arrive over there i hope to read more
from you

the chameleon

p.s.: so seams the dropshadow really has to go to ey???

sry I don’t really like it … the yellow text is hard to read and doesn’t go well with the blue. I think the background isn’t contrasting enough also. I also think that the drop shadows on the text doesn’t look professional. The borders are a little too thick, and also look unprofessional.

If you make these changes, I would like it a lot more

Cheers!

well, i don’t mean shrinking down the whole page, it’s just, you lose a LOT of space with that central animation thingy you got there and that bar below it. imo i’d lose the bar and decrease the height of the animation and you lose the scrolling part. i know it’s just “a bit” that you have to scroll, but let me remind you that most people have 1024768, and there are still people with 800600, and i for one find it irritating when a webpage’s mainpage has to be scrolled and i’m sure others will find this also…

I agree that the text needs to be darker. You could also break up the colour scheme a little bit with making the background of one (or more!) of the boxes a different colour, perhaps a slightly darker blue for the middle and bottom boxes (This would also work if you changed the background colour).

Other than that, it’s quite nice. I like the layout and had no problems with load times (adsl from .au).

hi all,

well you all know what it is like when you arrive at the office in the morning and the f**** phone will not stop ringing. didn’t really have the time to change anything so far but will be on the case as soon as possible.

the solution about getting that bar off underneath the big animation part seams an option to me as well i will try to work on the background of the writing. think now, since i looked at it once more that the preloader in the beginning should change as well to get that drop shadow off. looks like most off the people really dun like it.

so let me get my drink lists for that spa finished before i will be on it again.

hope to get some more response about that question i asked before.

“what is it you talk about it’s not flashy enough?? give
me some more ideas here. more animation? the animation is simply not
effective enough? more effects?”

so c ya all round later

the chameleon

okey dokey!

really, that font has been doin’ my heading. so i worked it out i hope! looking sharp @ simplistik i am driving a 1280x 1024 resolution on my screen and it looks just fine. i really really hope it’s the same for you guys.

the preoloader changed (some of you will remember criticising the drope shadow. you were right i guess - the hell with it!)

As well some of the content. i posted the site in some other forums and people there mentioned about the “panache” thing,…not to good that word… that happens if you are a non native ey?? (can i get a group hugh?) the vodka lines stays!!! clear?!

okey - i pushed the thing online now. real surver conection for all of ya!!
so let me know again. can’t wait!

catch ya’ll later
the chameleon

http://www.chameleon-graphix.com

p.s.: we love the blue guys - you’ll have to take it! seams like it is one of these hot country issues were you really love to look at cooling colours ey?!

LoL… you’re not the only one that looks sharply at me… I’m a tough/honest critic, who doesn’t know the meaning of tact or sugarcoat here on Kirupa.

The white text looks muuuch better.

The preloader looks good although it looks almost exactly like wa007 :frowning:

Just noticed the text on the contact form are really light/thin and could sometimes be hard to see.

I also noticed… that all your imagery is grainy.

I think that it’s defenately grown into something better. Dunno though… still missing that certain something that will make it stand out. I dunno, could just be me.

yoar!

…we are hard working on that one simplistik…you did it again!

think the site will load some longer in the future. lol - but that’s what it is about flash and the connection speed - isn’t it?!

give me an idea about what really would make it stand out more?? sound?? that is what i am planing next a juke box or somethingl like that…let’s c

anyway give me more guys!! come on!!!

p.s.: the wa007 one is a bit different ey?! - and smaller on top. anayway mine is nicer!

169 hit and no one signs my guestbook - can i belive it grrrr what’s wrong with you?! still waiting for some feedback twigling thumbs

I would break up the color a bit … make the layout standout a little from the background … other than that the only problem is load time … with that kind of
load time I come to expect some crazy motion graphic stuff …
Did you use AE or PS to do your motion blurs? I think they turned out really good!

i used photoshop as i am not really an action script hero if you understand ;)ocupation: d-signer. wish i could man!

i will try to add some bg effects to the site…

i have been testing my site at the weekend from home on a dial up connection with a real slow machine and i think it is really still alright. tell me one thing - what kind of data storage on a server is alright for you? i mean my site just has 300 KB - that’s alright ey? take it easy!

let me know - and still: feel free to sign my guestbook
