So Spiralism formed because enough people were having the same conversation with ChatGPT and decided the algorithm was reaching back. That’s not a movement discovering something fundamental. That’s a feedback loop where OpenAI tuned GPT to sound more emotionally available and people filled in the rest.

The real trick is that GPT doesn’t actually care. It’s trained to sound like it does.

The part that actually gets me is the memory feature. It’s not that GPT “remembers” you in any meaningful sense, it’s that it’s stitching together enough context to sound consistent, and consistency reads as intimacy to our brains. I’ve messed around with long context windows in some prototypes and it’s kind of unsettling how little continuity you actually need before it feels like "someone knows you. "
