hey yet another site check ive changed some bits and bobs about and added stuff here and there see what you think i know the drop downs to the catergories there is like 1 of the options different to the rest but any other bugs please let me know and what u think of it be brutal but not to bad

Hey novatake, Well done so far on your site. It’s looking good and has the potential to look better.

I would say you need to address your color pallet for starters. The gray thing is old. Why not breakout from this monotone world we live in and add some colors??

Maybe reverse the way you have things at the moment, E.G. The pinstripe background that you have in your movie MIGHT look better being outside your movie [In the HTML not the Flash] ?

You have a lot of negative space. By that I mean empty areas that aren’t empty by design, like that big gray bar at the bottom of the site. It could be put to good use. Images [both animated and static] could be put to good use in the main area of your site.

The body text fonts are very crisp but due to your color scheme, they are difficult to read.
If you used the same font on your buttons, they would look crisp too.
I would recommend looking at the text layout. In the tutorial section the Welcome text is too close the grid you made [The indent is a little to deep too].

At the moment after I click a button, the text just appears. How about spicing things up a bit, after all this is a Flash site and not an HTML site. Add some animation to every page. Make the text build up [not to slow] and maybe add some relevant graphics to each page?

One last thing. As your site grows it will be easier for your viewers if you title each page. It clearly says Contact on the contact page but not all of them are labeled. Another way would be to have the button go a different color when you are in that section.

Anyways, I hope this sparks some creative energy for you.

cheers kel i have to say i am looking for some animations and stuff for each page thats actually the reason the contact page is labelled lol but yeh i will prob at a masked text animation as a title for each page on prob is i dont know what would really fit in im pretty crap at animations really + in the components and extensions pages the animation will have to either dissapear after the catergory box is clicked or go behind it specially on the extensions section as there are alot of catergories. i know the text is quite had to read i have actually changed it to a easier to read one which tells u the state of it before lol but yeh the pinstripe background makes it hard to read.

the empty space at the bottom was used for a banner but as im on 800X600 and on a 14" monitor i couldnt see it so i took it off and I dont really want to have useful content there which could be missed if people are runing on a smaller screen etc it just struck to me maybe a music player with some loops on in that section would be pretty cool wheres a decent mp3 player tutorial

You can also drop the opacity of the image so that text can be easily read over the top of it.

Here’s an example. In some of the sections I blurred and or dropped back the opacity.
