Well first, I moved the thread he asked why, and I gave the reason. The purpose of the Kool Sites section is to post sites that are designed or coded exceptionally well, OR have exceptional content. I’m not the end word in the decision, but it was clear that it doesn’t hold those qualities. And while I don’t believe those prerequisites are written down as a necessity, many site b4 yours have been moved for similar reasons, and givin similar reasons as to why it was moved.
And not to start anything up again… but I didn’t try to prove anything. I gave my open opinion as to what I thought of the site and the work presented on the site. THE only reason that naurtoboy decided to single me out is because I have mod status. However, no one followed my lead, they made their own judgements based off of what they saw. My mod status has absolutely nothing to do with my opinions of a design or a site. Nor should it put me on some unjust pedistal, in which ppl think that I must always put on a smile. I’ve givin many critiques on this forum… some very harsh, some not… that’s my style, and I feel that’s how it should be done, and I’m not gonna change that because of my mod status. Now while I didn’t give an appropriate contructive critique of the site or the work, it was only due to the fact that a critique wasn’t really asked. It was moved into S&C for the showcases part of the thread name. I wasn’t modded under the the agreement that I change the way I am or act, that would be unfair to me and the community.
When you put up a website open for the public, it’s open game for a public critique, good and/or bad. When I put my site up, and some other forum doesn’t like it, which may very well happen, i’m not going to go into that forum and then chastize the people negative comments. While I may defend myself, my work is put out there for the good and the bad comments, you can’t have one and not the other. I won’t challenge the quality of their work compared to mine, everyone is entitled to their opinions. When a movie is released movie critics don’t ask for permission to say things about the movie.
You openly admit that your work in your portfolio isn’t your strongest pieces… well how are we to “judge” you properly when yourself are admiting the work that is presented is subpar by your own standards. But as far as we knew then, that was your best.
I don’t apologize for what I said, nor do I feel I should have to (and I know you didn’t ask me to). But do not categorize ALL mods under one category based off of the action of one, which would be me in this case. I would’ve said the same things regaurdless of my status here in the forum.
And I’m moving this thread out of kool sites… because this topic doesn’t have a kool site on it… or a site w/ kool content in it and merging w/ the previous thread, any other comments can be directed towards me, but please try to keep your PM civil.
