Hello,
I’m creating a Flash (MX 2004) movie to be distributed on CD - in case those viewing it don’t have an internet connection and/or can’t download flash player. I’m going to save it as a projector file.
I’m going to put video clips on it and I wonder if anyone has any advice on the best way to do this. As I see it my options are:
-
Import FLV files directly into the Flash movie - this allows me to customise the controls but it does make the file very big.
-
Use the mediaplayback component provided with Flash - this allows me to progressively download the FLV files so the size is more manageable, but it doesn’t allow me to alter the look of the controls and they are very big to fit in with my design.
-
Create separate SWF files for each video and import a FLV files into each of them - then create an empty movie clip in my main movie to load these into - this would make the files more manageable, and would allow for me to customise the controls. But I’m not sure if this will work if people don’t have flash player - I’m not sure how it works, does it bring them into the file and temporarily ‘embed’ them, or does it play them as independent files, so you would need flash player even if its all saved onto CD??
-
Progressively download the FLV files into Flash and script my own controller to play them. This would allow smaller files, I can customise the look of the controls, I don’t need to worry if the user has flash player - BUT I have no idea how to do this one!!
Any ideas or suggestions would be very much appreciated!
