For some reason, my Preloader bar starts to move (or even appears) when the movie is actually 50% done, and then the bar finishes half way from the end. and my movie is loaded. It loads fine, but it looks a bit silly with only half a bar all the time
can anyone help?

well… have you tried it on a computer with a slow connection?
If you have it DONE RIGHT… two factors could contribute to that:
Fast connection, or you’re playing it from your computer:
if you have the file localized, your preloader is simply not going to work… because it could be loading in less than a 12th of a second (if your frame rate is 12) and you wont see anything…
if you have a fast connection, your whole file could be loading in half a second… which would lead to a choppy preloader
Slow processor speed:
it could be that the frame rate is being affected by a slow processor, and that instead of the frame taking a 12th of a second, it’s taking half a second… this could make the preloader do what you’re saying…
if this doesnt help, I hope this at least gave you some insight.
also if you are using componennts or having anything exported in the first frame, these things are loaded before the first frame of the movie, and therefore, before the preloader…

I’ve recently found that having embedded text in the preloader scene will do exactly the same thing as having components that export in the first frame.
