hi all,
started a new project again, this time i’m designing a site for my cousin, she’s with the girlscouts (don’t know the exact term in english :)). still thinking about some ideas, but any comments or crits are welcome 
Hmmm, maybe incorporate their colors into it, unless those are the colors. :stunned:
Take a look at other Girl Scouts sites to see what they have going i.e. pictures - wilderness, activities… you know, crap like that lol.
It’s a good start, I just didn’t really like the colors.

well yeah, the colors are the big problem, normally i’d work with the colors of the logo, but this time the blue really doesn’t fit the red in the logo, it’s really an ugly logo (but can’t change anything about that sadly enough :(), way too bright colors, so i had to figure something out. i also did check out some other national girl scouts sites, but they were really crappy, so they weren’t any help at all…
btw congrats on your 2000th post :party: save some beer for me man

Was this actual size? If so, it looks pretty small on my screen.
I don’t mind the red so much, but I think you need to mix something with it. The red almost gives me the feeling of fall(the season), so try some fall like colors. That could work. I’m not very keen on the thick fonts you’re using either, they seem bulky. Could you upload a larger picture as well? It’s hard to pick out the details.
I think if you made the panels lighter, but kept those leaves it would go down well. The autumn theme sounds cool, go with wanyo’s idea.
…oh… autumn is fall, btw. Crazy Americans…

I definitly dont get a girl scout feel when I look at it. At all.
It’s almost too trendy/hip… IMO it needs some brighter colors, maybe washed out ones… less of the trendy dark feel.

the borders and the fonts are the first things to come to mind… I think you should trim down the inner glow on the windows, and get a much slimmer web font. Also, I don’t think you need a box around the copyright, if you just have it in a small font and slightly darker than the background it’d look alot sleeker.
The colors don’t cut it for a girl scout page. When I think of girl scouts (and not the ones in the adult films), I think more of summer than autumn, since that seems to be when they’re all out… Placing an autumn scheme on it doesn’t seem appropriate. Try to add a summery color-scheme to it, and just don’t give a **** that their logo kindof clashes with it. If they don’t like it, tell them to get a new logo.
The picture up at the top looks pretty alright though, and the general layout wasn’t bad.

i’ll put on some changes and i’ll let you see the result. i also noticed something: i did this one on my laptop, when i look at it on my laptop, it seems allright, but i watched it on a pc at a friends place, and the colors were all different, even the leaves on the boxes were hard to see, but i’ll figure something out
