I like , im gonna call u ironik for now on, kinda didnt think of your name as ironik-art. lol, stupid me
:: yeah that neck position reminds me of the characters from 5th element, the space dudes (who held the five elements), their heads in the front.
The neck hole will determain the way your neck and head is going to be, so have a good look at it before you start modelling. It might be interesting to keep it there in the frontish.
Yeah, Iāll set about moving it before I model the head. Iāve heard a few people mention a similarity to the 5th element! Iāve watched that movie so many times it must be unconsiously showing in my pics. Iāve been beating my brow trying to think of a scene to put it in. All I know for sure is that Iām going to steer clear of the traditional sci-fi grates and pipes in favour of something a little more homely.
hehe, I was thinking of putting him smack bang in the middle off a hobbitville-like scene (modified to my own style). This is probably only because I want to do a scene that looks reminiscent of Bag-end⦠thatās the only movie Iāve seen more than the 5th element!
Iāve moved the neck hole down slightly to accomodate a stooped head. I also adjusted my character rigging so it moves a little more realistically. No animation yet, Iāll leave that till last⦠but the poses can be easily changed now.
Looks like Iām gonna need luck! My first attempt didnāt turn out as well as I wanted. It looks ok from far away, but doesnāt stand up to close scrutiny. Something funky happened with the modelling on the chest. I tried to fix it, but it looks like itāll have to be remodelled (Dāoh!). Itās not that visible from a distance.
Iāve decided Iāve gone as far as I want with this one. These things can consume days just tweaking⦠so here is a semi-final render (done in Max4) and some post-render work done in photoshop. Itās not perfect, but itāll do for now. Iām going to get stuck back into some scene building work so I can have a completed image, rather than just models posing on blank-ish backdrops.
