Ok…this is my first flash site i am doing almost 85%in flash.
Can you guys critique me? What should i be doing, what is annoying, what is cool. How did i use the colors, is it easy to follow. This site is for a magician who is 19yrs old
It would be great if i could get responses please.

The first thing that cought my eye was the beam as seen on electrongeek’s footer. It’s quite laggy on my pc.
You might wanna tone down the colors and use pixel font and smaller text sizes to give it a lot more style. This happens a lot with first sites. Like the green and big yellow font under show types … That’s about it, tone down the colors and use pixel fonts as said before and your site will have a hellalot of style
The splash page should show elements of what’s in store for the viewer. Your looks a bit white and well, not as good as it could be. Sorry.
The words in the intro, “Toss out what you know about magic” I would think carefully about sentences like that and anything starting Redefining what you know about… [Not that you have the last one!] Also the intro starts with words like Questions, Passion… but never really explains why or what they mean with respect to the magician.
You could make the buttons look more like a menu by placing them all together in a vertical or horizontal line.
The light effect you have is very good but seems a little over used on your site. May be if it just did its thing once in a while and not continuously, it might be better?
In the Bio section you could probably cut Wade out a bit better and maybe even lower him so you don’t see where he is cutoff at the knees. Why do you have Name, age, area bla bla bla on the right and not incorporated into the main body text.
The music is good! When you stop the music it starts back up again after a few minuets.
As stated b4, you could do with working on your colors. That’s an easy one just look around you. See what colors go well on commercials, print work in magazines and even candy bars [lol].
Um first thing is the boring splash page. Definalty add something more to it. Make it reflect the site. Some ppl will chose not to navigate a stie based on the splash page alone.
In the intro when the green flashes wildly i jsut about hada sezure. I would remove that all together form the intro. The bird was a nice touch. IT looked a little jaggy but it aniamted smooth.
Your images are a little jaggy and you cna see places where you mised spots. A little touching up and they will look good.
The music selectios where good. Your intro music was really fitting. You should make your own music control buttons though.
You navigation was nice. It was easy to use and I new where the buttons where taking me which was nice. I had a little problem with the buttons beign all over the site though. It is alwasy nice when the buttons are a little more togeter.
The big thing is a lack of a color theme. You need ot pick out a couple complemetary colors and stick to those. Try t oget away from the ultra bright web safe colors that u are using now.
IT is a very good start and really good for your first site. You still have a long way to go as do all of us. Keep at it and you will be suprised how good yous skills will become.
whoa! the first thing i noticed was that you spelt ‘accessing wades files’ wrong: you’re missing an ‘s’. Oh, and, those white thingies are cool, but I almost had a fit with the black and white flashing! however, the site is pretty good and the music is cool, ‘wanna rock your body…easily… dance with me!’ woo!
lastly, is this magician any good? cos you send him up pretty well!
cool site, when i skipped half the intro… cuz it seemed ok, but the numbers that proloded the site, were really small. I could hardly read them. Everything else was good though. gj
Yes the magician is really cool. Acttually we are working on revalutionary ideas and concepts that will change the structure of what magic is today… I really appreciate your feed back form all of you guys. I am acctually redesigning it once again, taking all of your considerations into play. I think I am loearning alot, cause of you guys. Kirupa.com is a lifesaver…i love more input so feel free.
I really like the flying bird–very cool. The flashing colors in the intro are way too much. I had to close my eyes and sit in discomfort until they were over. I’m not sure that everyone should know that your favorite food is haddock.
