I have been recruited to create a site like myspace or model mayhem but with a different theme. This project is the largest in scale I have ever dealt with and it will take probably 3 months to do. Can anyone give me an idea of how much I should charge. I will be using HTML, Flash 8, PHP/JSP. The price will not include hosting or domain name registration. Thanks everyone!
Mik3, just because you don’t understand the technology don’t classify it as being hard. Myspace isn’t doing anything complicated. Also how do you know if myspace doesn’t have competitors?
If you want to talk about something hard think about Googles complex search algorithms and the type of projects the develop. ie Google maps, earth, etc.
The relationships on MySpace is as simple as a tag list… the blog… well, what could be a simpler database than that…

Yea… but they could make some things easier and make it a tad more customizable. I mean it wouldnt be that hard to make like Nokrev said as long as theres not much traffic. And if you do make this make the search actually work.
