you would race faster so that your horse would come in last place. The person who’s horse came in last gets to marry the princess…
ye but nobody wanted to come first so they just sat there and waited for the others to finish… which of course aint gonna happen!
yes you would want to come in first.
Ok, if your horse comes in last place, you get to marry the princess. So you switch horses and race as fast as you can. Think about it. It’s the answer.
what are you talkin about???
Think about it! If you had to race you would just sit down on the start line and wait for the others to finish and then you lose! (which is good) but they’re all gonna do the same thing so nobody finishes ever! But if I race as fast as I can and the other sit on the starting line then I finish the race first (which is bad)!!!
but your switching horses… so they think that the other person finished, therefor u win…
Ok there are two guys “A” and “B”. A has horse “1” and B has horse “2”.
They each want their horse to lose. So they switch. Now A is riding horse 2 and B is riding horse 1. If B crosses the finish line first his horse (2) losses, and he gets to marry the princess.
They ride as fast as they can because they switch horses. They want to beat their own horse.
see, he is right
Here is another version of the riddle, it might be easier to understand…:
*An aged and somewhat eccentric king wants to pass his throne on to one of his two sons. He decrees that a his sons shall compete for the throne through a horse race. However, the King states that the son who owns the SLOWER horse shall become king.
A king’s advisor fears that the King’s sons will cheat by having their horses go less fast than they are capable of, and asks an old wise man for advice. With a mere sentence, the wise man gives a solution that will ensure a fair race. What advise did he give? *
ANSWER DOWN BELOW
—ANSWER
The old wise man informs the King’s advisor to have the sons switch horses when they race.
haha that’s a good one… so i guess it’s jubba’s turn to tell a new riddle now
quote: A king’s advisor fears that the King’s sons will cheat by having their horses go less fast than they are capable of
what stops them to cheat with their horses switched?
Dont mind me! I’m just dumb!
when you have your opponent’s horse, you’ll try to get to the finishing point earlier, as your horse (which your opponent is riding) would finish the race lastly, thus, you win :beam:
Syko, i think what’s messing you up is how the riders identified, they arent identified by themselves, they are identified by their horses. Therefor when they switch horses, they ‘become’ the other rider.
Very cunning :beam:
