I have completed my site, but I want to know what you guys think.
As with RenGirl’s site, this is pointed at both Art Directors, and potential Clients, so those of you with Dial-ups, please let me know how it loads for you… =)
Those of you on Macs, please let me know how it works… =)
I really like the portfolio page - I love how the images slide across the bottom. I would make it so you can click on the enlarged version you get an even bigger picture in a seperate window - you have some great shots man!
Also I am on DSL and I noticed a bit of lag the first time your loading screen came up - so I can see why it didnt work right away for Phil. One other thing - on your resume, make it so the work keeps going down when you mouse over instead of having to click - it’s a pain in the ass
I love the colours and the simple layout - nice work!
For the most part it’s very fast loading and very easy to get around - it shows your talents very well
At this moment, I’m looking at it on a Win2K with Mozilla set at 800x600. The site appears to be fully functional in this setting - already a winner.
Right off the bat - I’m intrigued by the simple rollover effect on the main page. I also find the interface to be pretty straight-forward and usable.
The web portfolio - just a few nitpicky things. I noticed that some of your screencaps include the browser interface and some do not. I would recommend having all the screencaps show only the website and no browser components. Excluding the browser gives you more room to show off your stuff plus all your screencaps should be consistent in format. The website details/info on the green sidebar - you could afford to decrease the font size a bit, giving you more room to describe the projects. I think it might look more finished if you created a clearer visual hierarchy in the text, such as a bold title and a clear division between the client information and your contribution.
In regards to the resume - It’s basically functional although I prefer a sidebar along with the scroll buttons so I can browse the material at my own pace and jump from section to section more easily. However you did provide a printer friendly version, which makes up for this.
Email form - looks pretty good!
Last small nitpicky thing: the “Loading” animation might look best if precisely centered in the content field.
Other than that, it looks tip-top! Great job. I love the quote/catch phrase on the main page! You are quite an accomplished web designer.
Comments - that’s exactly the kind of feedback I wanted…
The screencaps & text are dynamic, so changing them is easy (I need to change out a couple anyway). Do you like the white bg on the web, or should I make it black like the rest? Is the more section good, or is it even necessary? Is there something more important I should put in its place?
Alignment is easy, bolding the titles and changing the size of the font is easy. As far as the res, this is done in Generator, so the scroll bar becomes much more difficult, so I may leave that alone.
Thanks again, I really appreciate your time and comments,
