Is religious experience merely an electronic impulse?

Some of the world’s top neuroscientists have found a link between a specific part of the brain and moments of religious experience. If their theory about the brain is correct, faith and religious experience may simply be an electromagnetic field in the brain.

maybe you too can talk to God!

I wonder if Billy Graham saw this?

I can’t believe that this is the face of an inspirational leader that convinced a large group to commit suicide and they would be rewarded with a spot on a spaceship travelling behind a comet:

Whats next?

Actually there was a suicide commit cult at our high school. Kirupa was a member (2nd to join after the pope). So you never know, kirupa might actually be next :P.

doesn’t surprise me a bit

Rev

I’m not in charge phil, you’d have to ask the creator, god. oh wait you banned him :P.

I beg to differ…

Rev

I learned from your Mom!

Rev

nonsense, utter nonsense…wonder if thinking about something triggers an electric impulse…well duh, thank you Captain Obvious…

wow, we’ve got more than one set of brothers on here.

phil/rev/abzoid.
and me/kirupa

I think its more the fact that a certain region of the brain is stimulated when the impulse is about religion. That would mean that there is a specific part of the brain that deals with subjects such as that.

its not like its a 900 number straight to the pearly-gate’s reception desk…
