Some of the world’s top neuroscientists have found a link between a specific part of the brain and moments of religious experience. If their theory about the brain is correct, faith and religious experience may simply be an electromagnetic field in the brain.
I can’t believe that this is the face of an inspirational leader that convinced a large group to commit suicide and they would be rewarded with a spot on a spaceship travelling behind a comet:
Actually there was a suicide commit cult at our high school. Kirupa was a member (2nd to join after the pope). So you never know, kirupa might actually be next :P.
I think its more the fact that a certain region of the brain is stimulated when the impulse is about religion. That would mean that there is a specific part of the brain that deals with subjects such as that.
its not like its a 900 number straight to the pearly-gate’s reception desk…
