My Site (FishTank [just explore])
check this and write your opinion about it in here or leave it right in my guestbook…
thanks
First off, you need a preloader, 111kb doesn’t take too long on broadband, but on 56k, that could be an eternity.
Another thing that bothered me was the fact that your content covered up some of your navigational buttons. It was a bit confusing when I was moving my mouse around. Also maybe you should have the parts light up or change color so the viewer will know what they just rolled over.
And the custom cursor works fine on my comp, but on slower comps, it could lag a little.
Another thing is your text, I usually center it left, but thats just me since I’ve been working with print. Also try not to let your text scatter all over the place, keep them together and clean.
Other than those things, I like the concept. =)
thanks for this quick answer. after you told me what is wrong, i can see the mistakes too. this is what i meant, you cant make something better without feedback. its very important.
i’ll fix the things as soon as possible, but i think there actually is a preloader :q: I will decrease the size of the infoframes and the fontsize, but what shall i do with the cursor? undo the animation?
hm…
usually it works fine (the preloader), i know this because some of my friends tested it with 56 k.
and again, thanks alot for feedback

The cursor isnt really important, if its a must then keep it. About the prelaoder, when I was viewing it, I didnt see any preloader, but I’ll view it again later cause your page seems to be down right now.
Ive decreased the size of the infoframes and put them into seperate swfs. this made the site smaller. and the preloader works, ive tested it by uploading a big animation.

All I got was a blank white page. Not sure what’s going on there at all…
The custom cursor is noce but it really slows things down. I would mabye lable your naviagation as well. I don’t know if i even found all of the buttons.
well, my concept is that the visitor has to interact with the site, explore the site, but for these who dont like to find out how to navigate ive made the navi-bar, but if you really think this is a big problem, or the site is not good because of this, tell me and ill change it.

No if you have a static normal navbar on the side as well that is perfect. It gives options so less advanced users can find there way around. Either way what ppl say here are just opions. In the end it is your site and your decision on what the site looks like.
