My Friend is a Scientologist

So I was chatting with a friend of a friend today and they told me that a good friend of mine is goes to Scientology classes with her. Its so weird. I live in LA where obviously it’s a hot topic. People approach you on the street asking if you want a “free stress test”.

Anyone know some interesting facts about Scientology thats not about Tom and Katy or Travolta?

Better yet…anyone a scientologist?

Nope, but my friends love to call the scientology hotline during lunch.

Im not, but what it seems really sketchy. Tom always seems to avoid certain questions. And they have a lot of rules that just seem to be made up out of nowhere.

Yeah Scientology is seriously wierd, some/most of the stuff they belive is (in my opinion) completely retarded.

Also watch the fairly rescent South Park episode, ‘Trapped in the Closet’, it’s pretty good.

Definitely not a group you want to be in with…

the whole “silent birth” thing that tom and katy are having is pretty eerie too. the multiple levels of “purity” makes it sound a little arrian-ish.

Hey Nok…whats the hotline # i wanna call!

Not sure. I’ll ask when my friend gets online.

Xenu!
lol, i’d rather not post here, it might offend some real scientologist members:)

A long but good read: Rolling Stone: Inside Scientology

EDIT:

75 million years ago, an evil galactic warlord named Xenu controlled seventy-six planets in this corner of the galaxy, each of which was severely overpopulated. To solve this problem, Xenu rounded up 13.5 trillion beings and then flew them to Earth, where they were dumped into volcanoes around the globe and vaporized with bombs. This scattered their radioactive souls, or thetans, until they were caught in electronic traps set up around the atmosphere and “implanted” with a number of false ideas – including the concepts of God, Christ and organized religion. Scientologists later learn that many of these entities attached themselves to human beings, where they remain to this day, creating not just the root of all of our emotional and physical problems but the root of all problems of the modern world.

Scientologist they believe in crazy stuff lol I hope nobody gets offended,

No one say anything to offend anyone - I would like this thread to stay open. :pa:

EDIT: Haha, way to delete your post, fork.

this is got to be the biggest money making scam ever

Sure makes a good sience fiction story, but that is not siprising since it was created by a science fiction writer.

So why is he still your friend?

I’d like to say that your friend is an idiot, but hey, he’s entitled to his own religious beliefs… and some might say that the bible makes quite a good fantasy story

Now thats heavy… Never really heard that much about scientology over here, so yeah not much to add. From what ive heard though, sounds pretty way out.

The whole silent birth thing, is supposedly not true, Katie can scream, but no one in the room can say anything. “Supposedly.” I wonder if the doctors had premade picture cards to tell katie “To push” “want some more morphine?” “Congratulations its a boy/girl/other” etc… Or maybe everyone learnt sign language?
some might say that the bible makes quite a good fantasy story ;)
Aye!

lol, at least the Bible is based on this planet.

I think a few celebs became scientologists and now it’s a trend. I bet half of the people that claim it don’t even know what it’s really about. I’ve also heard that a lot of scientology books are really sketchy, avoiding a lot of topics and all. It’s almost like they know if they outright say what they beleive everyone will laugh and walk away.

I was SHOCKED to read that they actually get paid for new recruits. The whole concept of it being based around a FICTION story makes it like most other religions I guess…just even more strange and with aliens
