**ok, where do i start? (deep breath…)
The ps2 has been out over two years longer than gamecube - this could be the reason for more variety…
Whoa ‘squaresoft’ - once a great partner of nintendo, squaresoft sold out to sony, and gave them numerous ‘exclusive’ titles. This happenend with many other third party game publishers… now ‘thankfully’ the tides have changed - and most of those same third party publishers have gone back to nintendo…
PS2 PLAYS DVDS - what? this is the reason you bought one - lol - dont you allready have a dvd player - get real - PLAY GAMES NOT MOVIES
Quality control - PS2 has the best games - ha ha - out of the enormous amount of games released for ps2, how many have actually been worthy of your time? i can count these on my fingers (ico, rez, gta iii)… Graphical updates dont automatically mean great gameplay - i need new experiences. Gamecube on the other hand (mario sunshine, super monkey ball 1 & 2, rougue squadran ii, metroid prime, luigis mansion, smash bros) - and lets not forget the forthcoming new zelda.
Joypad - gamecube wins hands down…
unrelated fact : ps1 was jointly created by sony AND nintendo
Just for the record, im not just an nintendo freak, but an avid video game collector (and yes, i have playstation 2), but if i had to choose between these two consoles i would be the cube.
in a nutshell
PS2 : A system which is capable, but the potential is hardly ever realized. Only a handfull of games are ‘worthy’ of anybodys time. Nevermind, i can watch a dvd on it…
Gamecube : Great games (updates or not) and the greatest pad ever to touch my hands, oh and lets not forget the new zelda.
case closed…

Gamecube : **
