But I mean, what point was there to be made? Sure got mad, you should have just dropped it…
well…this thread is tiring. but…im sure if you read the posts you would understand my point. anyway. thank you for the comment:hair:
When this thread was locked earlier - many of you complained that you will play nice and there was no need to lock it. Guess, the moderators were proven wrong.
Does it really matter which gaming system is better - especially if the end result is an argument in which nobody really wins. If you like SYSTEM A, that’s good. If you like SYSTEM B that is also good. When it comes to a trivial matter such as this, there really is no wrong answer - just the personal opinions of the one who owns each machine
Cheers!

everyone, like some other people said before, ITS NOT ABOUT THE SYSTEM, ITS ABOUT THE GAMES. I agree. Pretend GC OR PS2 didnt have any games… yeah ps2s controller is rated better, but its based on your preferences. The only reason i like ps2 better then gamecube is i usto be a big rpg final fantasy fan, and i havent played gamecube that much, i have nothing against it.
I’m glad you can admit your sins, now we can go get you baptized in the Playstation 3 shrine, and give you a blessing in Nintendo land, to finalize your gaming epiphany.

allright…this is the last post…hopefully. The whole discussion that me and shureshot was not even about which gaming system is better…they are both better is someone’s eyes. The whole discussion was about “opinions” and he seemed to think that “OPinions” have to be backed w/ facts. They are opinion! I posted the actual meaning of an opinoin just so there is no confusion…but there still seems to be.
dude… just stop. It’s not important. Why do you find the need to have the last word?
Lets just forget about this thread, and chat with others about something else…

Hey, first of all I’m new to this forum (mainly use teh gamingforce forums) but decided to create an sn here because of my brother, UncleGuito.
All of you have valid arguments, some more immature than others, but otherwise valid. As some background info, I’ve had a PS2 since May 2002 and picked up a Gamecube last week. This particular debate has been going on since before the systems were even released. I myself have been more of a Playstation fan, especially after having spent countless hours in the many great RPGs that the Playstation delivered us.
Here are my views on this:
The Playstation (and PS2) analog controllers seem to be the best controllers available since the SNES days. However, the Gamecube controllers do come close so I don’t think it’s really fair to compare the two, especially when they’re pretty close in quality and funtionality.
PS2 did come with a DVD playback feature as well as backward compatibiltiy (able to play PS1 games) which is definetely a very strong advantage.
True, the Sony systems have been geared a bit more towards the older audience while Nintendo seemed to be developing games that appeal more towards children. However, with the release of the Gamecube the death of the N64, Nintendo seems to be getting a bit smarter.
As far as RPGs go though, I personally don’t think the Gamecube will ever come close to the number of and quality of them as with the PS2. The Gamecube, however, is a lot better for multiplayer entertainment, while the PS2 is generally played solo (or max 2 people unless you have a multitap, which is rarely used in games). I don’t think there’s any PS2 game that comes close to Super Smash Brothers Melee in entertainment value when it comes to a multiplayer experience (excluding online play).
And as far as Squaresoft goes, it’s sad to say but they seem to be going down the hole. Final Fantasy VII seemed to be the company’s last glory. Many of the younger games (who weren’t around during the NES/SNES days) seem to think Final Fantasy X was “the best game ever,” however I feel it lacked in the gameplay Square used to offer to RPG fans, for example FF VI and Chrono Trigger.
Overall, the Gamecube blows away the PS2 graphic-wise, framerate-wise, etc, however I have to say that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed more time playing the numerous elite games for the PS2. No doubt about it though, the Gamecube does have a few exceptional games that are NOT in a gamers best interest to pass by, but I feel the PS2 has MORE exceptional games. I am in fact anxious to play the new Zelda for the Gamecube. People nowadays are way too critical of everything and should just learn to relax and give things a chance. To conclude, both systems are definetely worth purchasing, especially if you consider yourself a diverse gamer who wants to try and appreciate everything video games have to offer. I apologize if my writing seems a bit choppy or messed up, but I’m kind of in a rush to go somewhere.
Anyways, I vote “PS2 is better because of it’s games.”
I do not believe it is better in everything.
Great post Dunderhead…
I agree that the ps2 has more games but I dont think really they have more elite games than the gamecube but again, it’s all about prefrence. I have a buddy who thinks that Xbox can’t put out a bad game… to each his own
Again, thanks for the great post my man.
Lava - thanks
well… I like my xbox just because it has halo… simple as that.
Sure… you’re welcome.
thanks dave, your my hero!!!
(ah brotherly love)
