Should i go for PSP or wait for xbox portable?

My sister (15)* had her birthday I want to buy her a PSP. I have red somewhere that xbox is going for portable version. Is that true? should I wait?
What do you guys think ? In google you can search for xbox portable and see the 3d picture of it.

Err… I think the “Xbox Portable” you speak of is the Oragmi, and it’s basically crap. Bad battery life, and not built for gaming.

I’d get the PSP anyday.

My PSP is reallly, really annoying me because of the screen ghosting. BTW, don’t get the PSP NOW. You’ll regret it. Sony will be releasing a Flash HDD PSP soon, that will be like heaven. The PSP now isn’t that cool because of the extreme screen ghosting and the lack of built in memory.

But eh, forget about the XBOX portable… IMO

I agree with Nokrev, it’s probably just the Origami which means there will be 500 models of it from different companies, it’s RAM will be wasted with poorly managed Windos XP RAM methods, etc. Not so good for gaming.

Only bad thing about the PSP is its terrible, buggy web browser that Sony has gotta fix ASAP.

after reading som article I found that the next PSP will have a 8gb storage, but I never heard of better graphic preformance. I would maybe wait til before summer time.

don’t get a psp period. It’s useless… save up a little more and get a laptop

Don’t get a PSP, period. Either buy a Nintendo DS (which has really fun games and is cool all around) and have money left over to buy drinks for cute chicks or save up some more money and get a decent laptop.
Also, check this out. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4586448618317501230&q=psp+loading

nice foodpk, you said the same exact thing i did :crying:

Gross, don’t get the Nintendo DS. Get the DS Lite.

The Nintendo DS has got to be the most undeveloped, worst piece of gaming hardware I’ve ever used. Everything from the poorly lit screen to the cheap touch screen pad that causes screen distortion, the Nintendo DS is a terrible piece of hardware. The DS Lite on the other hand is very excellent, great looking, and made with much nicer materials. I can’t stand my Nintendo DS, it’s sad I paid $150 for it, it’s worth maybe $90. I’m definitely buying the DS Lite whenever I get the money though, because the DS is probably one of the most fun gaming thingies I’ve ever played with.

Yea, just tell your sister im going to buy you the new PSP when it comes out… its going to be way better than the current model. Although Mik3 does give a good argument:

and: open

Dangg, that new DS is soo hot. LOL

Hmm, for your sister’s birthday you should take her to Best Buy or something so she can play both the PSP and the DS and chose which she likes. Then tell her all we told you about the new PSP and the new DS that’s coming out and see what she wants to do…

Either way your sister is extremely lucky to get such a great birthday present, no?

I think he’s buying her something expensive now is because

had her birthday

read right over that part. well as long as he missed it why not wait and get her one of the new portables… [whisper]did that sound harsh[/whisper].

…or wait till next year.

Yeah I have red stuff about the DS and Im began to like it. My friend here got PSP, the loading time sick long. CAn I hear music on the DS? and watch movies also? is it possible?, you have many options on the psp than the DS. :rocker:
I think the portable world starts from this year on… who knows next year man Im just tierd of things from these companies you buy this and next month a newer and thiner thing comes out… :a:

my psp arrived about a week ago, and i dont see what you guys mean by slow loading times. Yes that goole video thing was a bit annoying… but most games arnt like that. And compared to the ds i think theres no competition. Usually i do prefer nintendo to sony (the gamecube is so much better than the ps2, better value and better games) but on this one i really do prefer the psp. Im waiting for the 8gb memory card to come out so i can use it as a mp3 player too.

The graphics on the psp is amazing (for a portable console), and the screen is pritty big too.

also has the 4gb internal hdd been comfirmed? Everywhere i looked its just been a rumor, and in most places a rumor that has been discarded.

Oh and btw i am definitely buying the revolution when it comes out!

Yeah its cool but maybe the next psp would be better. I red also that They are not going to release any new psp, maybe way after ps3. what is the revolution sorry?:jailbreak

The PSP is great for:

  1. Games, and btw there is a big selection now, ahtough not are all great
(And loading times are great, that is bull*** about the long ones, only on like 3 games…*)
  2. MP3 quality is as good as the iPod, as long as you have a lot of space
  3. Movies, either buy UMD, or burn em, again have a big Card
  4. Have you seen the screen real estate?

Downsides:

  1. Internet Browser can be annoying, but hey where else can you view full color webpages like that, in your cell phone? :stuck_out_tongue:
  2. Have to have a large Pro Duo card or else you cant put anything on it…

The Revolution is the new Gamecube thingy, with the really weird *** controller… heh

yeah man I agree with yea. Its a good thing to have. Waiting until sommer and buying I m worried maybe Sony will release something new, I dont know when!

get a psp, its the best portable system out there. anyways the origami is not an xbox portable, there is no xbox portable.

psp
games
analog stick (ds dont have it)
online pay
mp3
movie player
photo viewing
web browser (soon to be flash enabled)
game share
firmware updates
memory slots

low battery life (you can easily get a new more powerful battery)
analog stick to small (third parties make them to, so you can buy those)
mediocre web browser (psp has firmware updates so it can be fixed)
no hdd (so what, most portable systems dont have a harddrive)
its not durable (if your not a cluts and you take care of your stuff, it wont break)
missing pixels (this is very common)

I love my PSP! Movies, music, games, all on a fairly compact device. Better than carrying a laptop or iPod and an Xbox around.
