They were down because I just uploaded the re-designed version of kirupa.com. I’ll wait here while you all go and take a look.

No, seriously, Apache turned off due to a lack of RAM. Looks like vBulletin went a bit loopy early this morning and went into some sort of loop, but everything should be back to normal
Okaaay, many people wondered what happend. I know
and i thought someone did a DOS attack:P
That sucked.
I had to work and stuff
Wha? New desi-… oh, I get it now
Wha? New desi-… oh, I get it now
I broke it as part of my evil plan

I shall have my revenge :esmirk:
seriously though is anyone finding the site a bit sticky (freezing and maybe taking a bit long to open threads)
yeah I had that happen just then. I tried to edit a post and it wouldn’t load when I hit save but when I refreshed the changes were there…weird.
The homepage is still the same old homepage…
Oh, I was just joking about the re-design. If anything, the “new/current” home page causes some users to not see the flash animations at all. Some call it a bug with my implementation of flashobject, but I see it as the price of progress.
[whisper]I am looking into the disappearing Flash header problem btw.[/whisper]
[whisper]yay! css woot :D[/whisper]
I see you said you’ve implemented Flashobject but I’m still getting the “click to activate” message throughout the site.
This decision by Microsoft must rank as one the most ridiculous ever made…imagine if they decided to replace .gif and .jpg standards and insist on only displaying .tiff and .bmp images in future? The web would cease to exist for many months.
And I thought the update was supposed to be optional? All I know is that it was automatically downloaded last night so that, today, I’m having to click a multitude of times. To make matters worse, if I use the back button, I then have to click again - this update doesn’t seem to be able to remember that I’ve already agreed to activate the object. Stupider and stupider.
Yes, I’m aware that I can uninstall the update but what about the 90% of people that either don’t know how or aren’t prepared to tinker with their PCs?
Maybe MS have implemented it this way for a reason - perhaps to convince the US courts of the idiocy of their decision to award this patent in the first place - but the cynical side of me can’t help noticing that the products affected the most just happen to be arch-rivals to Microsoft’s own internet software.
But it looks like we have to live with it for a while so - does anyone have a Flashobjects template that I can use to republish my fla’s in Flash instead of having to edit them all by hand?
Bah!
I feel a sense of slowness coming on, might be my pc though
Most of the issues should be fixed. The real test is whether the server stays up during 6AM-8AM when I am asleep
That will be my time to strike again!
