I’m not ignoring this thread, it’s just not my style of site. It works well (I think the transitions become long after seeing it twice), and everything is very intuitive.

Therefore, design-wise, I am going to remain silent.

I also am not a fan of the max window, or the mystery enter button. I like the effect tho.

I am only commenting on the parts I feel qualified to critique…

All in all, I would be proud to put a site of this quality out there. Nice job, looking forward to V2…

Wow you guys give the best feedback ever, I hate it when people just say stuff like “your site rocks” or “cool, its nice”, those type of comments is nice to hear, but they don’t help me to improve. I rather have my work get beat up, chewed up and spit back out cause I’ll learn from it. Like I’ve said before, this is my 2nd flash layout so it was basically trial and error. For my next version, I will break away from 2advanced style and try to develope my own style. This forum has taught me a great deal in actionscripts and shortcuts that I’ll put to use on the next version. Thanks everyone for the great feedback. =)

You know what’s funny Lost? When I first joined this forum and posted my site in the site check section, I recieved a lot of hits coming from Kirupa. And one of the visitor’s from Kirupa, signed my comment box using the names “LostinBeta” and “Kirupa” to talk trash about my site. At first I really thought that it was you and Kirupa so I figured you guys didn’t like my site. I continued to stay on the forum dispite the comments left on my comment box and later I realized it was just some imposter because after actually talking to you guys on the forums, you guys seem too mature to be pulling a stunt like that. So who ever it was, I just think that it’s lame to use another person’s name to talk trash.

Honestly Guigo, I don’t really care who it really is, I’m not going to waste my time hunting and searching who it is because I have better things to do. I’m glad that someone out there is jealous though because it shows that I’m doing a good job. It’s pretty ironic how this person hates my work, but yet still visits my site. If you don’t like it, then don’t come to the site, simple as that. =)

Basically it’s just an image of a crecent comet I made in photoshop. I placed the image inside a movieclip and tween it from big to small and adding in a rotation of 5. Then I just dragged out several instances of that movieclip I made and placed them at different angles inside another movieclip using several layers. Once I have that setup, I dragged 1 instance of the movieclip containing the other movieclips onto the main timeline and just tween it to move back and forth. =)

electrongeek: we are trying to implement a better organization for SOTW. We are having all submissions entered in a specific thread. By the end of the week, we’ll have a poll, ensuring that a winner is selected for that week. I say go over there and re-submit your site for next week.

hey electro, im with renaisancegirl on the statement about contrasting colors. to make it look a little more appealing to the eye, maybe incorporate a orange hue. it goes well with a blue/gray color.
