Well electrongeek you have did it again with another cool looking web, hoping to come with a web as good as yours, soon and GJ with SOTW, GJ.

hey electrongeek i like your site its really amazing ur really a pro
i like your arts as well, i just want to ask you something what software did you use those car you have there…

Thank you ioface, I used Illustrator for the cars. =)

any tutorial for tracing a car and how to achieve those shading cuz yours really look real

To my knowledge, there is no such tutorial. I did mine by pure experimenting and being patient about it. =)

any tips???

I first create a template, I take an image of a car and import it in. Next I double click on the layer that has the car and a pop up box should appear, I check ā€œtemplateā€ and click ok. You’ll notice that it automatically dims the car layer and locks it as well. This will be your template layer, if it’s too dim for you then you can double click it again and adjust the dim level to a higher percentage.

Once you’ve created your template, make a new layer on top of the car template layer. The new layer will be the layer where you trace out that car.

I usually work with multiple layers since it’s easier to seperate the parts of the cars, like wheels and windows and stuff.

My best advice is to zoom up super close to the image and trace the pieces out, that is how I achieve the amount of detail on my cars.

Other than that, it’s all patience. Good luck and post up your cars once you’re done, I would like to see it. Post it into the drawing and design section. =)

whats the best to use for better shading or highlight gradient or mesh

I actually use both, regular gradients and gradient meshes. It all depends on you.

ok thanks for your time

do you go to australian infront forums?? i saw your site ages ago… havn’t you won something from kirupa yet?? well you should have by now… good work. I LOVE THE FRONT PAGE!

Nope, I’ve never been to a Australian infront forums and you saw my site on there? As for winning something from Kirupa, yes I did, I won site of the week not so long ago. This thread is actually pretty old now and out dated. Thanks for the comments. =)

I love you elec and you did nothing wrong… but I’m going to lock this thread so people will stop starting new threads to submit a site. You can carry further discussions in the Site Check forum.
