**Again, learning is hindered when you have a broken computer and fixing a computer is not the only way to learn.
I love how you start with closed-minded remarks about Mac users and then you paint yourself as champion of learning. Is knowledge of MacOS also encouraged? Why would anyone want to learn MacOS when you make them out to be stupid because they expect a machine that works? **
i did say that the more you learn the better i use all 3 OS and i dont think a person needs to learn to use a mac if you know how to use a pc then itll be childs play to use a mac now linux is a whole diffrent problem if mac users think pcs are hard to use then linux will be almost impossible for them
Do you have anything to support those arguments? How is MacOS “child’s play” … is it because it doesn’t crash regularly and you don’t have to fix it (since you seem to value the opportunity to fix broken computers)? Or are you one of those people who base their assumptions on the aqua interface? And how can you compare Linux at all to Windows in terms of “usability.” We were talking about broken computers and unstable systems here. From what I heard Linux is very stable - easy to use. People are just afraid of it because they are hard-wired into the Windows way of thinking by people like you.
Finally - Windows is not hard to use (when the actual “using” begins)… it’s just a pain in the arse to fix.
linux is very stable i agree ive seen a linux server restart once every 6 months no joke, macs are good computers but they limit you to do some things like for example rip a videogame edit it and place your own graphics or audio in the game tell me you as a graphic artist wouldnt like to have your logo or maybe your favorite song on a videogame while you play it, another thing you cannot do on a mac correctly is rip a dvd, use the standard 3d programs since most of them are not supported to be run on macs theres a few but not industry standards, as to graphic programs like photoshop and ilustrator among others are compatible on both mac and pc so you se the pc user has an advantage IMO because he can use all the industry standard programs, linux is the best on security and stability why do you think mac osx is based on it? but its very limited as to industry standard programs and since its under freelicencing dont expect to have any industry apps runing on a linux box because we all know every software developer wants to make money, so you see its not about which is best its about with which you can be better prepared i use macs at work and i own 1 to and i also own a linux box if linux would get some of the industry standard apps macs and windows would be ot of the picture because of its licensing and because its not to much hardware specific unlike windows and macosx
You’re going off on a tangent. And not every developer is greedy and out there just to make a quick buck… how would you then explain all the fantastic open source, shareware stuff? I am sorry that you continue to stereotype people in this way.
Again, you are putting down Windows alternatives (cloaked with compliments… but still putting down) as viable replacements… even though I didn’t explicitly tell Daveman to switch to Mac or Linux. I merely told him to “chuck it and get a new one.” I’m sorry you took that more seriously than it was intended… next time I will include the obligatory “tongue sticking out smiley” just so you can take a hint.
In the end you still have not addressed the original issue - expecting a machine to work is not child’s play nor is it stupid. You’re just running around in circles and finding an excuse to turn against someone who doesn’t attend the Holy Church of Windows.
the only thing i can say to users is to compare for themselves and they should choose which OS they like best and like i said before it all depends what youre expecting to do on a computer if you want to achieve more get a pc and im not talking about which os is best im talking about doing more and beign able to control the way your computer works, like editing the registry tweaking its performance gettin to decopile programs and learn how they work and do all the other stuff you could do on a mac then get a pc but dont take my word for it see for yourself and compare thats all i gotta say
Oh and ren i love hearing your opinion and i respect it very much i just hope we are still friends and talk about other things that arent pcs and macs lol
one thing i like about pc over mac is that i can always upgrade my pc, adding more ram, more hardrive space, video cards…ect… and get them at varied prices. I love the mac os X operating system, looks so sleek, i think alot of people think its “childish” is that the appearance of it is very graphical, very bright colours very animated, program icons jumping up and down when selected and apps zooming in when minimized.
I’m not putting down neither OS , I used a mac for 3-4 years constantly at Collage while using PC at home, its a fun change though I’m into 3d such as Maya which although its comes out for Mac OS X , i rather use a 3ghz 2 gig ram , Geforce Fx 5800 over using a Mac.
exactly soulty with a pc youre not obligated to purchase a new system in order to use the newset programs take photoshop for example the windows version is compatible with win98se and up as where the mac version is only mac os9 and mac osx compatible leaving out the faithfull users who have made the mac market what it is today and making them waste 4000 dollars on a new computer now thats not right in my opinion
