Who exactly is Jesus’s? Dont remember him from when I last read the Bible
You tell me, you’re the Bible basher.
You said: The Bible was written from the disciples observing Jesus’s life.
Funny, you havn’t actually been able to disprove anything I’ve said and I think with the record scientists have for making predictions your pretty caught out there. Nice one knob cheese, have a nice day.
Well that’s because you haven’t offered anything to disprove !
Science has nothing to do with making predictions, what do predictions have to do with fact and evidence ?
You show me 1 shred of evidence to support the existence of God, other than your book of fiction written by man. And I will believe you, or disprove it….
But you will never have a shred of evidence because it is based on faith, not proof.
So what would you like me to write? “The Bible was written from the disciples observing Jesus life” yep thats good english applauds
If science is about fact and evidence then why are you still here being that like you said, scientists havn’t actually proved how the galaxy was formed. And if it’s only a matter of time untill they do… johnny@vapour-music.co.uk …mail it to me. I get the feeling I’m not going to be getting very much.
I don’t care what you disprove, like I have already said I’m not here to prove God’s existance or to preach, I beleive in God thats my problem… and eh, based of proof? How many people where involved in the writting of the Bible? I suppose they got together and pulled it all out of the magic imaginary boxes in thier heads… together. Don’t think you can convince thousands of people that thier imagining things.
but you haven’t proven anything either, scientists are much closer to figureing stuff out than the bible, which hasn’t explained anything about other galaxies existing. So if I might ask, is god both working on those other galaxies that we can see being created at the same time as guarding us. Or do they have their own god?
When scientists prove anything you have my e-mail address, feel free to e-mail me and I will be happy to accept that there is no God and that I was wrong.
How can the Bible explain anything about other galaxies existing when they didn’t know what a galaxy is? Even now there is probably so much about space that scientists don’t know.
As for other God’s I don’t know anything about that. I don’t know anything about other religions that have their own God and obviously the Bible teaches that there is only one God. I don’t know anything about that so I can’t really argue that there is only one God.
At first scientists could not prove that the earth rotated around the sun. It took a telescope to be able to show that for sure. In 1800 no scientist could tell you how old the universe was, or explain how the sun functioned. Let’s face it, man needs to constantly further his means of gaining knowledge before he can understand everything. Now we have satellites. A satellite is currently hovering around Saturn, and is destined to examine Titan, a moon which MAY have life.
What science can’t explain now, it will explain in the future. That’s faith, but it’s based upon historical fact. The fact being that science has continued to advance and answer more and more difficult questions. We know that the universe is 13.4±.2 billion years old… not 5000.
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Genesis 1:1
oooooh, too bad. The universe 13.4 billion years old. Earth 4.55 billion years old… Earth wasn’t created in the beginning. Earth was created 2 thirds of the way in.
“And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night…” Genesis 1:16
****. We of course know now that in fact the Moon is not a light, it merely reflects the Sun’s rays.
Point is, science is constantly showing us new stuff… and had the people who wrote the Bible been writing it now, they would have to explain a lot more, and perhaps God would have taken at least a year to create everything.
“And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night…” Genesis 1:16
****. We of course know now that in fact the Moon is not a light, it merely reflects the Sun’s rays.
Well that can be methaphorical, but anyway, I kno what you mean. Thats why , I dislike the bible.
The bible itself, no one knows when its written and who wrote it! But nevertheless its suddenly God inspired (Get out of here!! A book on God is God inspirired! Crazy!) anyway, by writters with free will, who could have written all they want, and I have to take their word for it!? I don’t think so.
Anyway, I don’t think there is a purpose to life for me. I’m perfectly fine living without one. I may set numerous goals for myself, but they don’t ever have to be achieved.
One thing I really want to do is have a girl friend, and when I have one, maybe some other strong want will make me do something else, but I don’t know what that is yet.
I don’t like it when people refer to that as “taking life as it comes”, because at any given time, I will have tons of different things I want to accomplish, and when I finally grow old and die, I won’t have accomplished them all, but I will still be happy for the things I did do.
I think someone here asked why atheists don’t just do bad things all the time because they don’t believe in a higher power punishing you after death, and the thing is that some people do just do “bad things” for sometimes no reason, but some of the people that don’t, don’t because they know that if they get caught, they will have to face punishments, etc. It makes your life better if you don’t do bad things. (Obvious)
I will follow up on this post later, but now I have to go to sleep. Why? If I don’t, my parent’s will get mad, and I will be punished, if I resist punishment, a higher authority will get involved.(police?) Eventually that could lead to me getting killed. Of course, I don’t listen to them purely for self gain. If I go to sleep now, I can wake up earlier and give you guys an interesting reply post!
I get the feeling I’m not going to be getting very much.
You won’t be getting a e-mail saying they know how the universe was created soon…. But current estimates are that we will have a theory to describe everything within the next 15-20 years.

I suppose they got together and pulled it all out of the magic imaginary boxes in thier heads…
Ummmm Perhaps generation after generation before there was writing, they told tales and fables to one another around camp fires.
Obviously when you go to write the first book, (the bible) whats it going to contain ?
They are not going to write a recipy book. They are going to write a book about where they came from, how they were created, what rules their God wants them to follow.
So no they just didn’t sit down and pull this stuff out of their heads, they already had the stories from generations ago. (although with every passing of information it gets skewed).
It may have been Jesus stopped and took a leak in the Red Sea, generations later when it was written into the Bible he Parted it.

If I didn’t know better that sounds like your going on FAITH
I am going on faith…… faith in math’s 1+1 = 2, physic’s E=mc2 my faith is based on the proofs that science has already provided and continues to do so.

I will be happy to accept that there is no God and that I was wrong.
Well like I said, 15-20 years and your house of cards will come tumbling down.
Then you can look back on your life, and compare yourself to people who worshiped volcano’s and the sun. :)

How can the Bible explain anything about other galaxies existing when they didn’t know what a galaxy is?
Ummmmm where did they get the information about God creating Heaven and Earth ?
Someone must have known what God did…… Funny that he didn’t tell everyone about how much he created… just Earth, Sun, Moon, Heaven….

This is obvious proof that they received no information from God or anyone that had communicated with him. That they obviously just made the Bible up on their own.

What science can’t explain now, it will explain in the future. That’s faith, but it’s based upon historical fact. The fact being that science has continued to advance and answer more and more difficult questions. We know that the universe is 13.4±.2 billion years old… not 5000.

I like you already L.Lepiano,
Could it be that you’re a old member that left and has come back with a new name by any chance ?
To sum up there’s many religions in the world, and everyone believes they are right. So these going to be a lot of wrong people, if and when the day of judgement arrives. And whos to say that the atheists could not be right either!
P.S. if that wasn’t preaching I don’t know what was, oh and the last paragraph assumes that Jesus existed
Well Vulcan in 15 - 20 years when your scientists know it all… mail it to me. Untill then you have about as much proof that there is no God as I do that there is. So until then I’m away to go do something worthwhile instead of sitting locked up in my house all day reading science fiction book.
There is plenty of scientific evidence that contradicts whats in the Bible, and plenty that explains how we came about.
It’s only logical that you go with the evidence you have… Not wishfull thinking.
But you don’t have any evidence- you have faith like you said. Faith that science is right and there are no other logical explanations to anything.
I don’t wish for a God, I just find it highly unlikely that a load of particles came from no-where and formed a planet here and there.
it is impossible to prove he doesn’t exist.
same thing like:
If a tree falls in a forest and there is nobody there to hear (/measure/…) it, does it make a sound?
of course it will, but how to proove it.
or:
proove that there is no pink, invisible, inmeasurable, walktrough unicorn (that makes no sounds, and is not willing to reveal itself) behind you
there probably is no unicorn, but how would you know.
There isn’t even a clear definition of god, to proove it doesn’t exist.
Another question:
I no god existed: would you want to know?
