Waiting for the bus

As I drove to work the other day, I was fortunate enough to catch the morning bus traffic (which I will attempt to avoid for now on). In doing so, I got to see a bunch of pathetic, mindless (especially at that hour) kids waiting for their busses at the end of their driveways. I started thinking, what a waste of my life that was!

I can’t think of how much of my life I spent out there waiting for that friggen bus. It’s especially rough when you’re alone… and I had to be for a couple of years, but not all.

What do you do? You just stand there and think… “Whens the bus coming? Is this it?!? No, just a car… Is this? No, another car. Whens the bus coming?” It’s not like you can really do much productive thinking being as tired as you are; all concentration revolves around trying to remember to step up on to the bus when it finally comes.

And how accurate are the bus drivers? Here on time one day, here 15 min late another and here 10 min early yet another! Better make sure you get out there at a time where you can potentially be there for any circumstance.

So, being alone waiting for the bus is pathetic. Its not fun and its a waste of your life. When you have people to wait with, its ok, and can even be fun. So, why then do you have these retarded kids who sit out in front of their driveways waiting for the bus to come when 2 houses over theres another person (or more) doing the same thing? Would it kill you to walk another 20 feet? Not only will you get some company but you wont force the bus driver to stop every 6 seconds (something I especially hate now as I am now one of the people driving behind the bus).

Ok, so this kind of became a rant… heh. I was just remembering how lame it was to have to wait for the bus back when I was in school. Hopefully we’ll have teleporters invented in time for my kids.

“Bobby! You’re late for school!”
“Sorry dad! - Beam me up Ms. Patterson”
“Darnit, he forgot his lunch again. beams

 great post Sen, although most of my childhood was waiting for trains, not buses, but it’s the same thing really.

Lol, actually in my neighborhood there was only one bus stop so that meant that all the kids from that area had to go and wait at that spot… so they weren’t alone since there was about ten other kids waiting also.

But not me, I only rode the bus in the 2nd grade, then my mom decided she would drive me to school :stuck_out_tongue: . But the one year that I did ride the bus, I was late most of the time so by the time that I got to the spot the bus was already coming up the street :pleased: .

I know what you mean, im still 17, low on money… so no car/license yet…

i need to travel 2.50 houres each day by buss… the waiting isn’t really a waste of time (well, i dont think of when the buss is coming, i think of what i could do next with flash, all silent around me… kinda relaxin)… the REAL waste of time is traveling with the buss, so when you exctually SIT inside it…

you just need to… ehmm… wait untill you arive at school… wich takes more then a houre… you cant do ****!

you cant think, coz there are smelly/anoying/loudy pplz around you.
if you have a laptop, you cant type normal coz there is always sitting someone next to you
and when you are the only one in your class that goes on that buss, you are screwed, coz you aint got really someone to talk with…

so what do I do ?
the only thing that is left to do… try to sleep…

“Bobby! You’re late for school!”
“Sorry dad! - Beam me up Ms. Patterson”
“Dammit, he forgot his lunch again. beams

cool idea, but what if:

“Bobby! You’re late for school!”
“Sorry dad! - Beam me up Ms. Patterson”
“Dammit, he forgot his lunch again. beams
“Bobby, where are you? Aaah crap, telefrag…”

telefrag :stuck_out_tongue: I was actually thinking that when I was typing the lunch part :pleased:

Your lucky you got the bus to come to your house. I had to walk and catch the city bus and do some transfering. From Kindergarten through graduation. And it didn’t end there. When the rains and winter darkness come I’ll have to abandon my bike for the city bus once again to get to and from work.

As a kid you are always worried about getting beat up, especially if you are a haole (caucasian) and there are local kids on the bus. Now I just have to deal with all the stupid teenagers if I happen to catch the bus when school gets out.

Needless to say, I get a lot of reading done. :book: I might just have to invest in an MP3 player this winter though . . . :stuck_out_tongue:

my school was actually at the end of my street so I didn’t have to get the bus and could actually get out of bed 10 mins before school started :beam:

it’s ok to hate me now

done :pleased:

ok I hate you :upset:

ahhhh, my work is done

Yeah same here I had to walk to the top of my street (1/2 mile) and meet up with a bunch of other kids from the neighborhood.

I had to walk across my property, through a horse field (well between two) and up a small community road which happened to end going up the steepest hill in the world (great for sledding!) to get to mine - a bit of a hike there as well.

here are 2 maps of what route i need to take…

From home to the buss:

And then from the buss, to my school

when i need to get at school at 8.30, i need to take the buss at 7.15…
now THATS a waste of time

I don’t travel by bus much but hese things are pretty accurat here. We have bus times like 15:22  and another one comes 15:27 :x and they’re pretty accurate too the 15:22 one might come 15:21 or 15:23 but they’re very accurate

… I think :stuck_out_tongue:

Can I marry you sen?

You so rule… bus services in general suck.

ponder this:

“PUNCTUALITY IS THE THIEF OF TIME”

That’s why on the first day, you tell the busdriver to drive to your house.
