Oh… I see what happened. That sucks! I think you should have made a temporary forum on the talk one and moved all the war threads there… because now we have to wade through one huge one, and some of the threads dealt with different topics.
Oh well.
Yeah, but that would have simply added more fuel to the fire =) I see your point, and that was what I initially wanted to do. The mods and I came to a conclusion that the random spamming on the forum must stop - there is a difference between talking about random topics and simply posting to increase one’s post count.
The war thread was a great example of where people simply came in and posted whatever they felt about it - later to post the same information again and again and again throughout the forum. The way I see it, these War threads were nothing more than soapboxes with a megaphone where everyone tried to out-talk and outwit one another. I doubt anybody changed their opinions or world outlook because of what was posted.
So, as an inconvenience to those interested in reading 24/7 about war and as a convenience to those interested in something besides war, the Ultimate War Thread has been created =)

Well, if you’re going to make that distinction… you have to also put a stop to people who spam threads - like me, Phil, Rev, Mak, Alex… etc.
As for this second thing, this same thing could have been achieved by making a temporary forum on it. And to tell you the truth, talking things out in kirupaforum has helped me change my attitude towards this war. For example - Phil has made me think about certain points, and I’m sure I’ve made Phil think about certain points as well. And not only that, but defiending my stance has helped me understand it better. And as for the hatred, etc - I worked really hard to put a stop to it. And it actually changed some people’s minds about it, and they were starting to post rational arguments…
But eh, it’s your forum, you do what you want with it. But this was a major buzzkill.
[Edit] PS… some of this bad behavior on war threads, I’ve seen coming from mods… Just thought I’d mention this.

Lava, true, but most of the other threads do not cause as massive an outrage as the War thread. You must understand that there are a lot of people who are sick and tired of hearing/reading about the war. While creating a separate forum was an idea, but the behaviour of a few kids prevented that from actually materializing.
Hopefully, this ultimate thread, while it may take a bit to digest, will be just as useful as having 10 more threads on the similar topic.
