Have you found a point where the vibe stops helping and just becomes friction?
For me, the “vibe turns into friction” line is when ambiguity touches irreversible stuff: money, privacy, deleting, publishing. You can be poetic in browsing and discovery, but the moment I might lose work or commit something, I want boring labels and a clear confirmation. In studio crits we’d do the same thing with drawings: concept sketches can be loose, but construction details can’t be “interpretive, ” or the contractor guesses. UI feels similar. Have you noticed it breaks most on first-time use, or even for returning users?
I start calling it a problem when I can’t tell what just happened — like a save button that changes color but never says “saved,” so I’m sitting there wondering if I need to click again.
Playful stuff is fine on discovery screens or empty states. Once it’s delete, publish, or anything that can bite you, the UI needs to stop being coy. Are you thinking more about vague labels, weird icons, or those hover-only controls that vanish the second you move your mouse?
